Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2018 Jeep Renegade, Compass and Grand Cherokee, RAM 1500 and Promaster, Fiat 500x, Dodge Journey, Challenger, Charger and Durango and Chrysler 300x vehicles, 2017-2018 Jeep Wrangler, Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country vehicles and 2018-2019 Jeep Cherokee and 2018 Chrysler Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid vehicles. The powertrain control module may be equipped with a voltage regulator chip in the circuit board that may fail, causing a stall or a no start condition.

Potential Consequences:
I WAS STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN. I WENT TO GIVE THE CAR GAS AND IT SPIT AND SPUTTERED. CARS IN THE NORTHBOUND LANE HAD TO TAKE THE GRAVEL OR THEY WOULD HAVE HIT ME. I TOUCHED THE GAS AND THEN THE GAS PEDAL STUCK. IT WAS 55MPH HWY AND I WAS ALREADY AT 65MPH. I WAS GOING TO RUN INTO THE TRAFFIC OR TAKE THE DITCH. I TRIED SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL AND IT WOULD NOT. I HIT THE GRAVEL AND PUT ON THE BRAKES. I FINALLY BROUGHT CAR TO A STOP. PUT CAR IN PARK AND TRIED TO SHUT CAR OFF. IT WOULD NOT.WENT TO TAKE FOOT OFF BRAKE AND THE RPM'S NEEDLE WAS BURIED. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A RED LIGHT WITH THE LIGHTNING BOLT CAME ON ! TOOK IT TO DEALER THEY SAID IT'S BECAUSE I NEED AN OIL CHANGE ! GOT OIL CHANGED JUST TO PROVE IT WASN'T BECAUSE OF THAT AND THEN THE DAY AFTER MY PARKING BREAK CAME ON AFTER PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP SIGN AND WAS ALMOST HIT BY A SEMI !!! TOOK IT TO THE DEALER LAST MONTH FOR THE SAME THING AND THEY JUST KEEP SAYING IT'S BECAUSE OF DIFFERENT PROBLEMS LIKE A SOFTWARE UPDATE ! BUT THE CODES AS WHAT THEY ARE SAYING DON'T MATCH ! PICKED UP 4 WEEKS LATER AND HAD IT FOR TWO DAYS AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE IN TRAFFIC. HAD IT TOWED AGAIN. TWICE MY LIFE HAS BEEN PUT IN DANGER. I WAS IN MOTION TWICE AT 50MPH WHEN IT JUST ENGAGED THE PARKING BREAK AND SHUT DOWN ENTIRELY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, BRAKE LIGHT, TRACK LIGHT, EVERY LIGHT YOU CAN THINK OF CAME ON AND THE CAR TOTALLY SHUT DOWN, WOULD NOT RESTART, WOULD NOT SHIFT GEARS FOR TOW TRUCK, NOTHING. INTERNAL ENGINE ISSUE (NOT CLEARLY IDENTIFIED) CAUSED THE ENGINE TO INTERNALLY EXPLODE LEAVING METAL FRAGMENTS ALL OVER THE INSIDE OF THE ENGINE. THE ENTIRE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION THE VEHICLE WAS MISSING A BOLT IN A BAR IN THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH HAS BEEN ON ORDER FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. THE UNDERCARRIAGE BAR WAS AN ISSUE KNOWN PREVIOUSLY.

IN ADDITION THE VEHICLE WAS MISSING A BOLT IN A BAR IN THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH HAS BEEN ON ORDER FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. THE UNDERCARRIAGE BAR WAS AN ISSUE KNOWN PREVIOUSLY.

ON FRIDAY MARCH 30 2018, VEHICLE HAD 6000 MILES AND WOULD NOT START. EXTREME AMOUNT OF STEAM WAS COMING OUT OF THE EXHAUST. CAR WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. INTERNAL ENGINE ISSUE (NOT CLEARLY IDENTIFIED) CAUSED THE ENGINE TO INTERNALLY EXPLODE LEAVING METAL FRAGMENTS ALL OVER THE INSIDE OF THE ENGINE. THE ENTIRE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION THE VEHICLE WAS MISSING A BOLT IN A BAR IN THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH HAS BEEN ON ORDER FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. THE UNDERCARRIAGE BAR WAS AN ISSUE KNOWN PREVIOUSLY.
