POWER TRAIN
Potential Consequences:
I have had several instances where I am driving thru the city just fine but when I go to accelerate and merge into traffic my car will not go past 35. all the lights come on and I basically have to coast to the side of the road. Every time this has happened, by the time I get my car to the dealership it is driving fine, the lights turn off and no codes are displaying. They have said it was probably gas or something since there were no codes. My husband and I use the same gas and his car is fine. it is just my Edge. It is like my car goes into limp mode for no reason and I have to turn the engine off and back on, put it in reverse and then drive in order to even go again.

WHEELS
Potential Consequences:
Lug nuts were swollen and they informed me I would not be able to change a tire with a manual tire iron and it was unsafe as two were completely stripped. Only 70k on the vehicle. Cost over $100 to repair. Seems like a common complaint so thought it prudent to report same.

APIM Module. We inquired with Ford about upgrading our Sync system to include navigation. A parts specialist at Livermore Ford indicated the upgrade could be made by adding a new USB hub and upgrading the software. We then noticed the last software update was marked completed in 2003 (on a 2016 model year vehicle). We confirmed the Wifi was connected and tried to initiate an auto software update, but there was no option to do so. We followed the directions per the Ford website for a wifi or manual update, to no avail. The third Ford recommendation is to take it to a dealer. On Jan 16, 2023, I took the vehicle to Sunnyvale Ford. The radio and screen were functioning without any issues. I showed the associate the software page and where it said 2003 was the last update, I showed him there was no "update now" button offered and the memory stick I had attempted to upgrade with via the usb hub.I asked them to update the software and indicated there was clearly a defect in that the software version date and the fact it never updated over WiFi as it is supposed to. The associate later called and told me they performed a software update and as a result they crashed the entire APIM Module. After much discussion the sales associate and the sales manager indicated there was nothing they would do and returned my vehicle which was brought to them with an operational radio and screen (which also operates bluetooth and the back up camera), no longer working.Clearly there was an existing defect in the system and granted it had not been discovered in the early years of ownership or warranty, but none the less; they faulted the system.I attempted software updates two ways and my screen and radio still worked when I took it to Sunnyvale Ford. Obviously, I do not know their exact action taken but a mistake was made or a Ford part/system. Ford states my only recourse is to purchase a $600 APIM which is on indefinite backorder. Therefore, I am seeking recourse via other avenues

Defect Description:
ENGINE
Potential Consequences:
This vehicle only has 71,000 miles on it. Car began running rough, then Engine light came on. I took it to a local repair shop and was discovered to have Cylinder Mis-fire P0304 code. There was also white smoke coming from the tailpipe. They looked into the cylinder and saw that coolant had breached the cylinder. They found a Technical Service Bulletin for this exact problem, https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10162071-0001.pdf. The fix is to replace the engine, which rough estimates indicate upwards of $8,000. This issue should be an official recall. I’ve noticed many complaints on this site referencing the same issue.
