Fisker Group Inc (Fisker) is recalling all 2023 Ocean vehicles. The instrument panel displays the incorrect font size of the Brake, Park, and Antilock Brake System (ABS) warning lights, and displays certain warning lights in amber instead of red. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems" and 101, "Controls and Displays." Additionally, multiple warning lights fail to illuminate during the ignition cycle bulb check, failing to comply with the requirements of FMVSS 138 and 208.

The vehicle was non responsive - yet was charged (EV). Numerous times I have not been able to unlock the car via the key fob. There is a “backup” RFID chip in the fob that’s supposed to unlock the vehicle by holding it near a spot on the door handle, however— that system did not work and I was stranded in the rain for a couple hours. Eventually when I returned to the vehicle to try again it had come back online and apparently unlocked itself which is not safe.

We were driving down a parkway and a yellow message flashed "battery malfunction" and the high-voltage battery fault came on and the car lost power while on a public road. I could break & steer but that was all. I was on a public road and had to coast down the hill (luckily was able to maintain speed) and there happened to be a parking lot I could coast into when we got to the bottom. I called road side assistance and gave them all the information, had my partner pick me and the kids up, and the car was later towed to my house. The car was at 70% Power and in Earth mode when all of this happened. Other issues that happened during this drive: Key Fob wouldn't work several times – car wouldn't lock or open after multiple attempts to use the lock/unlock button and even holding the fob on the door handle took time for the car to recognize. Usually it is in seconds, it was taking 20+ seconds. Park brake malfunction (flashing) when I was trying to park the car at the parking lot This is a serious safety issue – we were lucky we were able to coast down the road and were in a parking lot but if we had been on the interstate or the curvy 55 mph roads by my house a serious accident could have happened. In addition to the above – I've had several other issues making the car undriveable since I got it. The car only has 353 miles on it because it has been so unreliable to drive and now is completely unsafe to drive. I had the car delivered on December 14, 2023.

1.The Internet continues to not work. 2.Key Fobs do not work. 3.Regenerative braking functions failure. Brakes/wheels start to smoke and smell like electric smoke. Brake now squeaks, not sure if it is related. 4.Brakes seemed to temporarily fail on two different occasions while going around a turn on uneven terrain. No response from company, reported twice. 5.Consistent safety system failures. Lane assist, hill assist, anti-collision…etc. 6.The camera system continues to fail. 7.Door handles malfunctions 8.Bluetooth continues to connect to my phone even though the Vehicle is off. 9.Solar panel does not work. Please see attached time line with company.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Potential Consequences:
I on the highway driving during low-traffic hours in the middle lane of a 3-lane section of interstate highway. I was not immediately near any object, structure or other vehicle. Without warning or change in circumstances the Fisker Ocean began warning of a front collision risk. Within seconds of the alert sounding the brakes were automatically engaged. The car rapidly slowed from ~75mph to 35-40mph. Had this been a busier time on this stretch of highway this event could have caused a serious accident between myself and another or between two other cars attempting to avoid my sudden and erratic deceleration. This incident, luckily, did not result in any impact, accident, or harm to others or property. This system has engaged without reason or warning in one other case at a much lower initial speed. It does not seem to have a means of reliably reproducing the issue. This issue has been reported to the manufacturer several times. No attempt has been made to resolve the issue. The standard response has been "A software update will resolve this issue, " but no indication of when this update will come.

My car was towed away. I received the car back on January 18th. To this day, the company won't release the information of what happened and what was fixed. They refuse to give me any written documentation. Also, the rear defroster doesn't work, creating an unsafe environment. I have asked several times to look into it and nobody has done anything about it.

I had a complete loss of power the car abruptly stopped in the middle of the fast lane on the freeway 680 in the San Francisco Bay area. Very dangerous situation highway patrol came had to stop the highway. I was able to get the car rolled to the shoulder and then I had to have it towed to my house. Could’ve been a very dangerous situation where crashes could’ve occurred. It stopped the entire five lanes of the highway.
