On August 29, 2019 Chrysler expanded the recall to include an additional 693,128 model year 2013-2014 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Ram 3500 Cab Chassis with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of less than 10,000 lbs, 2011-2017 Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles, 2009-2017 Ram 1500 and 2010-2017 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks, all equipped with a column shifter. Pushing the brake pedal for prolonged periods when the vehicle is running and in PARK may cause the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) pin to stick in the open position. With the pin in the open position, the transmission can be shifted out of PARK into any gear without pushing the brake pedal or having the key in the ignition.

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle went into LIMP Mode with the checking engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was restarted; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the crank shaft had failed and needed to be repaired. The ABS Control Module for 2014-2016 Ram 1500 trucks I'm getting a C2200 fault code; basically "ABS Module Internal Fault". My truck, like those of numerous other Ram owners, has a malfunctioning ABS Control Module. Because of this malfunction, the ABS and cruise control do not work. In turn, this places me and other owners of this vehicle in an unsafe situation in that lack of an operating ABS system is conducive to skidding and accidents.

My problem is with my Ram ABS/Traction control, cruise control doesn’t work, 4 wheel drive will not engage. Having only rear wheel drive makes it hard and dangerous to drive on snow covered roads. Almost hit a semi head on because my traction control and 4 wheel drive doesn’t work. I’ve been waiting almost 2 years for a new ABS controller. Chrysler has put the part I need on back order like 5 times in the last two years and winter is coming and it’s not safe to drive my truck on snow covered roads. I don’t know what to do. I’ve seen and heard lots of people having the same issue with the RAM trucks. Please help. Thank you!

Potential Consequences:
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated while operating the vehicle, the message "Service ABS" remained displayed with the check engine and traction control warning lights remaining illuminated. Additionally, while attempting to stop the vehicle, the stopping distance was extended, and the cruise control was inoperable. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the ABS module was faulty and needed to be replaced. The local dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the ABS module was on backorder and unavailable. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 115,000.

The ABS and the Traction control. 3 times since taking my vehicle to get service the first time I have lost control. Once near my home turning into my street, my vehicle lost control and went into ditch. Second time it was raining, and light turned, and ABS did not engage and almost hit another vehicle. 3rd time my son was getting on the ramp and he lost control getting into the interstate was not raining but road was wet from rain earlier in the day. The licensed shop told me that Stellantis had so many of these and that of so many failures they had to change the way the module was made this was in March 2024. Now this is August 30th and after 3 weeks at a Ram dealer they called me to pick up my truck because the part is still not available to replace. They said that they are so many of these vehicles affected that they are not even allowed to place an order. So again, I am on the road with a vehicle that is a danger, and I can't fix because of the negligence of Stellantis.

I have reached out to Ram dealership on 2025 S Figueroa St, Los Angeles, CA 90007. I contacted them on April of 2023. Potential Consequences:
Question 1 The front fuel tank strap pulled out of its mount due to corrsion. The vehicle may be inspected request. Question 2 The tank could have fallen out before I noticed causing accident fire or injuries. Question 3&4 It has not been by the dealer or other entity. Question 5 There were no warning lights or messages other than a noise. On the afternoon of Aug 27 2024 I noticed an unusual noise under the vehicle during brakeing. Backing onto a set of ramps and conducting an inspection I found the full 30 gallon fuel tank hanging front end low only being held in by the rear strap. The noise was caused by the front fuel tank strap to intermittantly rubbing the drive shaft. The strap had pulled out of the slot in the frame due to heavy corrosion. The sprap is not able to be reinstalled in it mount location due to it being rusted out. Doing online research on how to repair this I found a recall for 2009-2012 Ram 1500s with the same problem. Safety Recall V04/NHTSA 18V-160 Frame Bracket. If I had not noticed the noise I may not have known about the tank strap until the tank actually fell out. This vehicle is used to haul personal items, tow a classic car, and transport family.
