Safety Issue:
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The wiring harness for the rearview camera and the center brake light may short circuit, which can disable the rearview camera image and center brake light. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 111, "Rear Visibility" and 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.

MY 2018 JEEP WRANGLER JL EXPERIENCED THE JEEP "DEATH WOBBLE" ON THE FREEWAY AT SPEEDS ABOVE 60 MPH AFTER RUNNING OVER MINOR PAVEMENT IMPERFECTIONS. THE WOBBLE WAS SO SEVERE EACH TIME I HAD TO PULL OFF THE FREEWAY ONTO THE BERM AND COME TO A COMPLETE STANDSTILL FOR THE WOBBLE TO STOP. THE WOBBLE OCCURRED FOUR TIMES IN THREE DAYS. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON 03/30/2018. THE DEATH WOBBLE MANIFESTED IN EARLY OCTOBER, 2018. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WITHIN A WEEK. THE ONLY PROBLEM DISCOVERED WAS THE TIRES WERE ALL OUT OF BALANCE. THE DEALER BALANCED THE TIRES. TODAY IS NOVEMBER 20. SO FAR, THE DEATH WOBBLE HAS NOT REOCCURRED.

THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED, I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND CROSSED OVER A BRIDGE. AS THE VEHICLE WENT OVER THE BUMP WHERE THE BRIDGE MEETS THE PAVEMENT, THE CAR STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY. I ASSUMED I HAD A FLAT TIRE AND STARTED TO PULL OVER. AS SOON AS MY CAR WENT BELOW 50 MPH, THE WOBBLE STOPPED. IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE ON THE FREEWAY NOW, ALTHOUGH NOT EVERY TIME I HIT A BUMP. AFTER READING THE ARTICLE ON USA TODAY ABOUT THE "DEATH WOBBLE" I THOUGHT I SHOULD REPORT THAT I EXPERIENCE THE SAME THING EVERYDAY ON MY MORNING COMMUTE. I TAKE 131 SOUTH IN GRAND RAPIDS AND IT HAPPENS AT THE SAME LOCATION EACH MORNING,.

STEERING
Potential Consequences:
IF I HIT A BUMP AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL AND ENTIRE FRONT END BUMP VIOLENTLY UNTIL I REDUCE SPEED BELOW 40 MILES PER HOUR. AT THAT POINT THE SHAKING STOPS. DURING THIS SHAKING THE CAR IS VERY DIFFICULT TO STEEER OR CONTROL. MY JEEP IS NEW AND IT BEGAN AT 2000 MILES (MAYBE THE FIRST TIME I TRAVELED ON THE HIGHWAY) AND STILL OCCURS. I NOW HAVE 6000 MILES. THE TIRES ARE SET TO THE PROPER PRESSURE AND I HAVE NOT DONE ANY MODIFICATIONS.
