Defect Description:
VISIBILITY/WIPER
Potential Consequences:
My vehicle has in cold weather no ability to clear and defrost the interior cabin of the vehicle As described in the recent recall, issued by JEEP, my Vin number was not included as part of This problem is obviously related, and the condition described in your campaign number is an exact match for the condition I experience during the winter months. While driving in Boston in heavy traffic, my vehicle fogged to the point where I couldn’t see where I could pull over or if I could pull over or the vehicle in front of me fogged to the point of visibility and every window I had to put my hazard lights on and stop in the middle of traffic. I reported this to JEEP directly, they attributed it to a design defect? The most recent Recall issued by JEEP left my Vin number out. With respect to the issue with the headlights Activating in auto mode. My vehicle does not have high beam headlights. When the high beams are activated There’s absolutely zero change in lighting conditions and the fog lights stay engaged. Stellaris failed once again to identify all the applicable VIN numbers. What else are they failing to include as there have been four major safety recalls with my make model and year jeep that did not include my Vin number which is disconcerting to say the least. Especially given the most recent airbag recall In the possible lack of activation. In my opinion, they are limiting this recall by guessing what production dates apply and are ignoring the vehicles that were produced immediately after or during the pandemic, which had items such as rear differential swapped out to a mechanical differential because they didn’t have the stock electronic diff in stock at the factory when the vehicle was built. A reasonable and prudent person would assume that major issues such as these would’ve been missed or overlooked when there were parts shortages as result of the pandemic and supply chain issues and not when things returned to “normal”.

Defect Description:
VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Potential Consequences:
The problem happens intermittently and not all the time. I will be driving on the highway or in the city and sometimes when I barely touch the gas pedal my car will accelerate at high speeds, and the RPM gauge will go all the way into the seven mark and it Turns red and it starts beeping and the only way to get that off is for me to let off the gas pedal and come to a stop and then shift it from drive to park and then that’ll usually fix the problem. And other times when I’m on the highway. I will barely touch the gas pedal and it’ll accelerate at high speeds and I’ll have to go from the gas pedal to having to slam my brakes on to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of me. A friend of mine who had driven my vehicle, called me and asked me if I noticed that it was doing that as well and I explained to her that I I was aware. I have not taken it to the dealership yet for that problem yet however, I do have an appointment made. I’m just waiting on them to find me a loaner vehicle that will seat my six person family because I cannot drive a different vehicle that does not fit my whole family .

On 03/24/2023 at 1:30pm I was driving to work on the local streets when multiple warning lights came up on the dashboard.I immediately pulled over on the side of the road to see what was the problem.I decided to look under the hood and noticed the coolant reservoir was empty.I continued checking the engine compartment and noticed one of the hose that leads to the radiator had become disconnected. This was a dangerous situation because if I was on the highway,I probably would not have been able to pull over immediately and the vehicle might have shut down on the highway which could’ve resulted in an accident.I contacted my local Jeep dealer on 03/25/2024 and explained to them what happened. The earliest appointment I was given to have the vehicle inspected was 03/28/2023.

Potential Consequences:
I have a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD Overland, If the NHTSA would do a web search this issue is a common issue that many people are complaining and concerned about. The forward collision warning with automatic braking is NOT functioning or has been turned down where it is completely ineffective or is not functioning at all. I have had my vehicle in two different Jeep dealerships and have been told that the system is functioning and not showing any error codes. I have an active case working under Jeep (Case # [XXX]) and my vehicle was inspected by a Jeep representative on [XXX], who also claims that the system is working. I have driven several different makes of vehicles with a Collision Avoidance System and have seen and experienced when this system functions properly, I am a Police Officer and currently drive a 2021 Chevy Tahoe with this system and have had many alerts in the two years I have driven this vehicle. I have approximately 12,500 miles on this Jeep and have NOT had one alert with this amount of mileage, I have has a couple close calls where I have had to take evasive action and heavy braking to avoid a collision and not even had a warning of any kind. There are to many people complaining of this same issue and many of the same people are quoting the same company verbiage and quotes from the jeep service departments saying that the system is functioning correctly, and there is no way to test the system. Please look into this issue and research just how many people are complaining of this issue, if your going to advertise and promote a safety system on vehicles you should have an expectation that the system actually works. Any safety system that is not functioning properly puts people in danger when the said system would prevent or minimize damage in a collision situation.
