Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2018 Jeep Renegade, Compass and Grand Cherokee, RAM 1500 and Promaster, Fiat 500x, Dodge Journey, Challenger, Charger and Durango and Chrysler 300x vehicles, 2017-2018 Jeep Wrangler, Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country vehicles and 2018-2019 Jeep Cherokee and 2018 Chrysler Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid vehicles. The powertrain control module may be equipped with a voltage regulator chip in the circuit board that may fail, causing a stall or a no start condition.

OIL PRESSURE LIGHT WILL ENGAGE ALSO AND CAR CAN FAIL TO START. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE PCV VALVE SINCE I HAD SIMILAR ISSUE WITH MY 2015 CHRYSLER 200 AND THE PCV VALVE WAS CULPRIT. DEALERSHIP ADVISED TO RECONFIGURE PCM AND COME BACK FOR OIL CONSUMPTION TEST AFTER 1500 MILES. TOOK BACK TO DEALERSHIP AFTER THE 1500 MILES ON 2-2-21AND VEHICLE WAS FOUND TO BE LOW ON OIL. DEALERSHIP JUST TOPPED IT OFF AND SAID IT WAS "OKAY, NO FURTHER WORK NEEDED AT THIS TIME". THIS IS A DANGER AND THE CAR IS CONSUMING TOO MUCH OIL. THE PCV VALVE OR ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO QUALITY MOTORS (2022 W MAIN ST, INDEPENDENCE, KS 67301, (620)331-6090) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CYLINDER COMPRESSION TEST SHOWED THAT THE NUMBER 2 CYLINDER WAS FAULTY HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE STALLING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V670000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 25,000.
