Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2016 Dodge Journey, Jeep Compass, and Jeep Patriot vehicles manufactured May 9, 2016, to July 15, 2016. The crankshaft or camshaft sensor may only work intermittently, causing the engine to stall.

I'VE NOT FOUND A RECALL FOR MY SPECIFIC VIN, HOWEVER, THERE WAS ONE ISSUED FOR DODGE AND JEEPS MANUFACTURED FROM MAY, 8, 2016 - JULY 12, 2016. TRANSMISSION OVER HEATS AND THEN STALLS OUT WHEN IT IS WARM OUT. THE DEALERSHIPS I HAVE GONE TO SAID THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE JEEP COMPASS BECAUSE IT DOESN'T ACT UP FOR THEM. NORMALLY MAKE IT 45 MINUTES IN SUMMER BEFORE IT OVER HEATS. CANT KEEP CAR OVER 2,000 RMP IN SUMMER OR TRANSMISSION WILL OVER HEAT EVEN FASTER. HAS BEEN HAPPENING MANY TIME OVER THE LAST 2 SUMMERS. NON-DEALERSHIPS WONT LOOK AT THE CAR AND THEY SAY THAT THE DEALERSHIPS NEED TO FIX IT.

I WAS ABLE TO DRIFT OFF ONTO THE SIDE WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED MY CAR HAD JUST SHUT OFF. I TRIED RESTARTING IT THREE TIMES WITH NO SUCCESS. I WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND TRIED TO RESTART IT AND IT STARTED. I TESTED IT AND IT WAS RUNNING SO I TRIED TO GET BACK ON THE HIGHWAY WHERE IT INSTANTLY SHUT OFF AGAIN THIS TIME THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AGAIN AND I LOST CONTROL OF MY STEERING AND JUST ROLLED BACKWARDS.
