2017 Chrysler Pacifica Engine Stall

Chrysler will be contacting the owners of certain 2017 Pacifica vehicles equipped with a 3.6L engines, regarding a problem affecting the electrical system and engine cooling.

Chrysler will be contacting the owners of certain 2017 Pacifica vehicles equipped with a 3.6L engines, regarding a problem affecting the electrical system and engine cooling.

 

According to the defect report, the engine control software could become out of sync with the crankshaft position sensor and unexpectedly stall the engine. In the majority of cases the stalling occurs at low speeds, without prior warning, no malfunction indication and without setting a diagnostic trouble code. The problem could increase the risk of a crash.

 

Those receiving notices will be asked to return to their dealer to have the engine control software updated. The recall is expected to begin March 2018.
