STRUCTURE:BODY
Potential Consequences:
Dealing with 2 major safety issues and innumerable minor issues with our Model X. The first major safety issue involves our right falcon wing door. It will not properly open because it is sensing an obstruction that’s not there. The mobile tech told us that something inside the door has become disconnected causing the issue - clearly something that is occurring frequently. I’m struggling to get the vehicle repaired with Tesla and very worried that my kids will become trapped in an emergency. The second major issue is the front axles grinding down over time. My car is only 3.5 years old. My front axles have already been replaced once. They are beginning to make the “clunking” sound loudly enough that it is clear they need to be replaced again. Again, Tesla will make it incredibly difficult to get in and get the needed repairs on my vehicle.

VISIBILITY/WIPER
Potential Consequences:
Tesla wiper stopped working during drive, rendering it impossible to view the outside. I had to pull over on the side of the road and shut the car down. After rebooting the car, the driver side wipers came back functional, the passenger side is non operable. This happened while driving, while there was moderate amount of rainfall - thereby creating a totally unsafe condition for myself and other people on the freeway. When I contacted Tesla for service, they have given me an appointment 1 month from today to rectify the problem - this is needless to say unacceptable and the expectation that I continue to drive a vehicle without functional wipers goes against current FMVSS regulations that I am aware of.

SUSPENSION
Potential Consequences:
The suspension is very loud, and sounds like it is going to break. A Tesla technician who was fixing another issue indicated that it is the Upper Control Arm, which seems to be a constant issue with this car. While we did schedule this to be fixed (for next week - they have estimated the cost of repair is over $1000), I fear that it could be a significant safety issue if there were a failure of the upper control arms. No warning light or any other type of warning occurred, which could lead others to not know they need to get this fixed. Tesla has issued a recall in China for this issue.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
Main touchscreen failed while reversing the car leading to loss of rear view camera. Car was being back out from a crowded parking area after an event risking the health and safety of pedestrians and other vehicles. Failure was sudden and complete without any warning signals. Failure has happened at least twice in the past 2 months, and 2-3 times before that since 2018. It seems to be getting more frequent. Dealer claims this a "software issue" that engineers are working on

Defect Description:
TIRES
Potential Consequences:
Owner of a 2018 Tesla Model X 100D with 35,499 miles had an accident on June 3rd 2021 due to a full thread loss of the passenger front tire. She was driving to work at the speed limit, early in the morning. Without any alert of pressure loss, the thread separated from the tire, causing the whole belt to hit the interior part of the front fender, causing a loss of control of the vehicle until the complete stop. Luckly, no other cars were involved in the accident. Driver was unable to move the car. Later, the car was towed to the Tesla center in Fresno, CA. Four days later, the car was moved to a body shop. The accident caused substantial damage to the car, well above the cost of a new tire. We have contacted Continental customer service and Tesla. Apparently, the tire is being recalled, but neither Tesla or Continental alerted us.

Potential Consequences:
I purchased this vehicle from Tesla on March 31 2021. The vin sticker affixed to vehicle inside driver's door shows a manufacturer date of July 2018. After I got it home and dug deeper into the main control unit, I discovered that the main control unit was from a vehicle built prior to March of 2018. All Tesla vehicle built March of 2018 and on, have an updated main control unit. It has been confirmed by Tesla that the car was manufactured in February of 2018. Tesla refuses to tell me why I purchased a vehicle with a vin sticker that states a manufacture date of July 2018 and that the car has a true manufacture date of February 2018. This is a six month discrepancy in time. The vin sticker is there to protect the consumer. It is there to let the consumer know what they are buying. This vin sticker is false, therefore compromising my ability to make a fair purchase decision. Telsa refuses to put July 2018 equipment into my car, to match the vin sticker information. here is an email from me to Tesla Re: MCU 2 [XXX] From:customersupport@tesla.com To:[XXX] CC: Sent:Tuesday, May 18th 2021, 9:35:33 PM Subject:MCU 2 Hello [XXX], Can you tell me what your local service center is?
