In the event of an unbelted driver, the seat belt warning light and audible chime may not activate as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

(Tesla) is recalling certain 2016-2023 Model S, Model X, 2017-2023 Model 3, and 2020-2023 Model Y vehicles equipped with Full Self-Driving Beta (FSD Beta) software or pending installation. The FSD Beta system may allow the vehicle to act unsafe around intersections, such as traveling straight through an intersection while in a turn-only lane, entering a stop sign-controlled intersection without coming to a complete stop, or proceeding into an intersection during a steady yellow traffic signal without due caution. In addition, the system may respond insufficiently to changes in posted speed limits or not adequately account for the driver's adjustment of the vehicle's speed to exceed posted speed limits.

MAPS, NAVIGATION AND ALL CONTROL FUNCTIONS ACCESSIBLE VIA THE CENTER SCREEN ARE INACCESSIBLE WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE. BACK UP CAMERA, DEFROSTERS AND OTHER FUNCTIONS ALSO BECOME DISABLED WHEN THE SCREEN FREEZES. TESLA TOLD ME THAT MY VEHICLE REQUIRED A REPLACEMENT MCU AND ORDERED THE PART. THE ONLY MANUAL FOR OPERATION OF MY CAR IS ON SCREEN. THE CAR COMPUTER WILL NOT LOAD THE SCREEN FOR THE MANUAL SO WE HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO ACCESS ANY SAFETY OR OPERATION MANUALS FOR MONTHS. I AGAIN TOOK MY CAR TO TESLA SERVICE THIS WEEK AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THEY HAVE NO FIX. THERE IS NO OTHER OPERATION MANUAL AND TO WAIT FOR A FIRMWARE UPDATE THEY MAY HELP BUT THEY ARE NOT SURE. THEY REFUSED TO REPLACE THE MCU. MY CAR IS STILL UNDER FULL WARRANTY. WE SUSPECT THE ISSUES WITH LOADING THE MANUAL IS RELATED TO FAILURE OF THE TOUCHSCREEN/MCU. I COULD NO LONGER STEER THE CAR NOR COULD I RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE SCREENS WERE COMPLETELY BLACK. I EXITED THE VEHICLE AND HAD TO WAIT SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO GET MY VEHICLE RESTARTED. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENED (THOUGH I CANNOT REMEMBER THE EXACT DATES OF THE PREVIOUS INCIDENTS), WHERE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AFTER STOPPING AND I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE.

ON 11/25/2020, AT APPROXIMATELY 12:00PM, WHILE IN LINE FOR THE DRIVE THROUGH CAR WASH OF A MOBIL GAS STATION (LOS SERRANOS COUNTRY CLUB DR), MY VEHICLE, A WHITE 2016 TESLA MODEL S, PARTIALLY TURNED OFF. WHEN VEHICLE IS STATIONARY, FRONT PASSENGER USES A SEAT-BELT TO FASTEN. AFTER IT LATCHES ON AND PASSENGER LEANS FORWARD, IT LOCKS AND THE PASSANGER IS NO LONGER ABLE TO MOVE FORWARD NO BACKWARD. THE CAR IS STILL STATIONARY AND NOT TURNED ON. PASSENGER CAN NO LONGER MOVE. ON A DRIVER SIDE IT HAPPENS ONLY WHEN CAR IS MOVING AND THE BRAKES ARE PRESSED; IT LOCKS THE DRIVER BUT ALWAYS RELEASES IT. ANY CAR THAT WE OWN OR DRIVEN DOES EXACTLY THAT. THAT ISSUE WAS BROUGHT UP EVERY VISIT TO REPAIR SHOP AND EVERY TIME IT WAS NOT FIXED. WE WERE EDUCATED ON HOW TO BUCKLE THE SEAT-BELT.
