Recall Date: Sep 12, 2024
Safety Issue:

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. SUSPENSION

Potential Consequences:

Had damper replaced due to death wobble at 39k miles under extended warranty related to FCA lawsuit. At 59k miles experienced same death wobble and nearly crashed at highway speeds. Took it in and they said the cause was the tie rods were bad, damper was within threshold, but would replace it too as a courtesy and abundance of caution. Wouldn’t do damper replacement without tie rod fix though. Didn’t have damper and would take 5 days to get in (1 day for tie rod part), but when I stated I wanted to repair it they miraculously came up with all the parts and had it finished before tie rod part even showed up. My complaint is that the original FCA lawsuit where they replaced damper was a bandaid for the real problem which is the tie rods. I paid the $2500 but will be pushing this up the chain of command. I know the lawsuit alluded to the damper not being the root of the problem but a cheaper fix for Jeep. The entire experience has been shady at best. Stew Hansen’s in Des Moines, Iowa was the service department.

POWER TRAIN

Potential Consequences:

I have a 2019 Jeep Wrangler JLU, which currently has a recall out because the clutch pressure plates are apparently bad. I realized today that the symptoms of that recall are EXACTLY what I have been experiencing for several months now. I went to the local Jeep dealer (Wallace Jeep in Stuart, FL) and they said there was nothing they could do because Jeep has not put out parts to remedy the recall yet (even though it's been about a year). They confirmed that clutches have been a problem and it is a serious issue, but I would have to continue to drive it until Jeep put out parts. This is extremely unsafe and the fact that they know how unsafe it is and are still telling customers to drive it until they get the parts figured out is ridiculous.

I bought this 2019 jeep wrangler and it is still under manufacturer warranty on the transmission and the steering damper . The transmission in my car was leaking bad and I took it to the jeep dealership and they did not know what was wrong or how to fix it . They are all incompetent and stupid and unprofessional and know nothing about cars also the recall on the steering damper was done 2 years ago and now I had to replace it because the car was dangerously shaking very bad . The transmission is still under manufacturer warranty and I took it to another shop and he fixed the leak in the transmission and he said it’s it’s the cooler line connector in the transmission so this repair that cost me 478 dollars should be refunded to me from Jeep manufacturer since it’s still under warranty

POWER TRAIN

Potential Consequences:

A safety Recall of the Clutch assembly was put out in February of 2023. No dealerships in a 50mile radius of my location had the parts available to perform the necessary corrective repair and vehicle update at that time. I was told I would be notified of parts availability. It is already 2024 and 11 months later and my vehicle is still at risk of catching on fire and there is still no available parts for performing the repair.
