ENGINE
Potential Consequences:
the vehicle was taken to the dealer because the check engine light was on. we were told the oil cooler was leaking and there was no oil in the vehicle. at no time did the low oil indicator come on. the dealer advised the oil cooler was manufactured as a plastic component and repeatedly would fail causing the oi to leak out of the engine. the engine oil cooler was replaced with a newly designed metal part. the oil cooler failure also caused the oil pressure sensor to fail. repairs totaled $1942.07 for jeep's faulty designed. repairs were made by the jeep dealer. repairs were paid out of pocket and not covered by warranty. the jeep had just hit 100,442 miles when the failure occurred. jeep online forums have repeatedly posted about this problem. jeep needs to recall the faulty design that can cause the engine to leak out all the oil without warning. safety of us and others is at risk because the oil leaks out without warning, other then the check engine light coming on. no low oil or low oil pressure light ever illuminated. same can result in drivers being stranded on the road or result in engine failure.

Defect Description:
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
The instrument cluster panel on my 2018 Jeep Wrangler shut down in December, 2024, with no advance warning. I purchased my Jeep in March, 2019, and per my dealership, it currently has 38,488 miles. I was told that I would have to bring my Jeep and leave it with them so they could order the part and replace the instrument cluster panel. They advised the repair would be completed by 1/3/2025. When I contacted them on 1/3, I was advised that the instrument cluster was on back order and had no additional information as to when it would be received. I have received no further information from the dealership. However, I found that there was a recall by the FCA US LLC on this part which included 2018 Jeep Wranglers. I called the FCA US LLC Customer Center on 1/7/2025 and after being on hold for 90 minutes, I finally was able to speak with “Dave” and explain the issue. Although he advised that my Jeep was not recalled, he created my Case #[XXX], and advised the Specialty Department would call me within 1 business day. As of today, 1/10/2025 I still have not received any such call, nor have I heard anything more from the dealership. How am I supposed to get this fixed when nobody is able to help me?! Defect Description:
STEERING
Potential Consequences:
After I completed the recall on the clutch, I've noticed an alarming issue: occasionally, multiple warning lights appear on the dashboard, such as the check engine, service transmission, and brake lights. The most pressing safety concern is the complete loss of power steering. Although the car remains drivable, operating it without power steering is exceptionally hazardous. Additionally, since the car features a push-to-start system, when this issue arises, I can’t turn it off in the usual manner; I have to stall the engine to stop it. This situation has occurred multiple times, but fortunately, I’ve been either at a stop or driving at a low speed. After leaving the car off for a while, when I start it again later, the fault disappears and I can't replicate the issue.

Defect Description:
POWER TRAIN
Potential Consequences:
Rear axle and differential began to make a whirring noise indicating bad bearings. After taking it to a shop who replaced the axle shaft, the noise continued. They noticed excessive wear in the differential components and said that it requires a rebuild. Another shop looked at it and agreed on the excessive wear, advising that the vehicle is undriveable until it can be repaired. The second shop has said this is becoming a common failure on this line of Jeep Wranglers and it ends up requiring a full replacement of the entire axle housing and assembly. The vehicle is undriveable because if the rear axle fails it would no longer be able to move. As it has not been repaired as of the date of this report, the components are available for inspection.

STEERING
Potential Consequences:
The JEEP was taken to the dealership for the steering recall, but upon return, the same issue still exists. Once the JEEP hits EXACTLY 51 MPH (does not happen at 49), the steering wheel starts to heavily vibrate making the JEEP UNDRIVABLE and UNSAFE. Upon contacting the HW HUNTER JEEP DEALER, and explaining that the issue still exists, they provided NO HELP and said that was all they could do. Seems like them letting an UNSAFE vehicle on the road is a liability and lawsuit waiting to happen. For this reason, the JEEP in undriveable as all roads near my home are 55mph and it is unsafe to drive.

I was driving on the freeway around 75 mph I’m not sure what happened or why but the jeep started violently shaking back-and-forth I’m not sure how to explain it. But I very easily could have lost control. Where I live there is snow and ice so I’m not sure why that happened but would like to see if there’s something I could check. Or if there’s been a recall. Nobody was hurt thank God no lights came on. I was able to slow down the Jeep safely.

Potential Consequences:
When driving a low speed, if the vehicle hits a bump, it will start bouncing and the steering wheel shakes too much until I stop and then everything comes back to normal. That situation is very frequently and very dangerous, because it happened to me many times while driving on a highway with a heavy traffic behind me, due to the fact that I have to slow dawn almost to stop to be able to control my vehicle. The dealer said that my car doesn't have extended warranty due to a type of tile (total loss) and the repair cost will be 100% out of my packet. I'm a retired person and do not have that type of money to pay for the repair.
