Safety Issue:

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2016 Dodge Journey, Jeep Compass, and Jeep Patriot vehicles manufactured May 9, 2016, to July 15, 2016. The crankshaft or camshaft sensor may only work intermittently, causing the engine to stall.

Potential Risk:
If the engine stalls, there is an increased the risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the crankshaft or camshaft sensor connector, free of charge. The recall began February 8, 2017. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S89.

Potential Consequences:

WENT THROUGH CAR WASH, WATER CAME POURING IN THROUGH DOME LIGHT, RAINING ON RADIO. TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO SAID THE DRAIN LINES ARE TOO SMALL AND OFTEN NEED TO BE UNCLOGGED. THEY OFFER NO EXPLANATION OF THE POTENTIAL ELECTRICAL HAZARD OR THE ROTTING EFFECTS OF WATER LEFT UNSEEN IN THE ROOF LININGS. I GOOGLED THE ISSUE AND FOUND THE HISTORY OF THIS POOR DESIGN GOES BACK TO 2008. WHEN AT A STOP THE ENGINE MAKES A RATTLING SOUND. WHEN ACCELERATION IT MAKES A WEIRD NOISE AND TAKES FOREVER TO GET IT TO THE SPEED OF 60MPH. I CAN'T GET MY CAR IN FOR REPAIR UNTIL JUNE 14, 2016.
