Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2016 Dodge Journey, Jeep Compass, and Jeep Patriot vehicles manufactured May 9, 2016, to July 15, 2016. The crankshaft or camshaft sensor may only work intermittently, causing the engine to stall.

IT HAS CAME ON AND GONE BACK OFF SEVERAL TIMES. NOW IT HAS CAME ON AT 90K MILES AND THE I HAD IT CHECKED AND WAS TOLD I HAD A BAD CRANKSHAFT SENSOR AND A BAD CAMSHAFT SENSOR. WHEN THE CAR WAS RESTARTED, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR STILL RANDOMLY ATTEMPTS TO ACCELERATE UNDER ALL AND ANY DRIVING CONDITIONS. SO FAR THE ACCELERATION SENSOR HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH NO AVAIL. CURRENTLY TRYING ANOTHER SERVICE GROUP TO ISOLATE AND CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE THERE IS NO PREDICTABLE PATTERN TO THE RANDOM ACCELERATIONS. THE DATE NOTED IS THE LAST OCCURANCE.
