Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.

WHILE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE CONTACT PUSHED THE START BUTTON AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH INTO THE FRONT LAWN. THE VEHICLE STRUCK A TREE STUMP WITH THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL, WENT AIRBORNE APPROXIMATELY SEVEN FEET OFF THE GROUND, AND LANDED ON THE OTHER END OF THE DRIVEWAY. SINCE CAR WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN MAY 2016, THE FRONT BRAKES SQUEAKED. TOOK CAR BACK TO DEALER FOR REPAIR AT 5,000 MILES DEALER STATED REPAIR TO BRAKE WAS MADE. HOWEVER, PROBLEM CONTINUES AND HAPPENS ALL THE TIME DURING STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. TOOK CAR BACK TO DEALER AT 10,000 MILES. DEALER CLAIMS THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE NOISE AND NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. HOWEVER SQUEAK OCCURS ALL THE TIME DURING STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. SOMETHING IS CERTAINLY WRONG WITH THE BRAKES.

THIS HAPPENS ON ITS OWN, WITHOUT MY TOUCHING THE GEAR SHIFT. WHEN IT SLIPS INTO NEUTRAL, THE GEAR SHIFT SAYS ITS STILL IN DRIVE. THREE TIMES I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR IN TO BE SERVICED FOR THIS PROBLEM TO THE DEALER SHIP I LEASED IT FROM AND EACH TIME THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEIR DIAGNOSTIC TEST SHOWS THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT, YET IT CONTINUES SLIPPING OUT OF DRIVE AND INTO NEUTRAL. I MOST RECENTLY TOOK THE CAR TO A DIFFERENT JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THE SAME THING. I HAVE CALLED FIAT CHRYSLER CORPORATION AND SPOKEN WITH GINA LEWIS FROM THEIR "JEEP RESOLUTION TEAM" AND THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED IN FIXING OR GETTING THE CAR OFF THE ROAD. THEY ONLY TELL ME THAT BECAUSE THEIR DIAGNOSTIC TESTS DON'T SHOW THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM, IT IS UNDOCUMENTED, THEREFORE I SHOULD PICK UP THE CAR AND DRIVE IT. SAFETY CONCERN: THE ISSUE WITH THE 2016 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE I LEASED IS THAT IT SLIPS OUT OF DRIVE AND INTO NEUTRAL WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION! THIS HAPPENS ON ITS OWN, WITHOUT MY TOUCHING THE GEAR SHIFT. WHEN IT SLIPS INTO NEUTRAL, THE GEAR SHIFT SAYS ITS STILL IN DRIVE. THREE TIMES I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR IN TO BE SERVICED FOR THIS PROBLEM TO THE DEALER SHIP I LEASED IT FROM AND EACH TIME THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEIR DIAGNOSTIC TEST SHOWS THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT, YET IT CONTINUES SLIPPING OUT OF DRIVE AND INTO NEUTRAL. I MOST RECENTLY TOOK THE CAR TO A DIFFERENT JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THE SAME THING. I HAVE CALLED FIAT CHRYSLER CORPORATION AND SPOKEN WITH GINA LEWIS FROM THEIR "JEEP RESOLUTION TEAM" AND THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED IN FIXING OR GETTING THE CAR OFF THE ROAD. THEY ONLY TELL ME THAT BECAUSE THEIR DIAGNOSTIC TESTS DON'T SHOW THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM, IT IS UNDOCUMENTED, THEREFORE I SHOULD PICK UP THE CAR AND DRIVE IT. I UNDERSTAND THE LEMON LAWS AND THAT PROBLEMS NEED TO BE DOCUMENTED BUT THIS IS POTENTIALLY A LIFE THREATENING SAFETY ISSUE AND I AM NOT WILLING TO DRIVE THE CAR AND WAIT FOR SOMETHING TERRIBLE TO HAPPEN BEFORE THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A MAJOR TRANSMISSION ISSUE. THE BACKUP SYSTEM WAS FAULTY. 1. WHEN IN THE REVERSE MODE THE BACK UP CAMERA SENSES WHEN AN OBJECT IS CLOSE AND INITIATES THE BRACKS. 2. I PUT IN REVERSE AND CHECKED AROUND INCLUDING THE SCREEN AND STARTED TO BACK UP AND THE BRAKES JOLTED AND STOPPED THE JEEP WHEN THERE WAS NOTHING IN SITE TO INDICATED ANY THING THERE. IT JOLTED ME AND I HAVE A SPINAL CONDITION AND IT HURT. I DID IT AGAIN TO SEE IF IT WAS A FLUK AND IT DID IT AGAIN. I PICKED MY WIFE UP AND WE WENT TO THE DEALER WHICH WE PAID CASH FOR IT ONLY 2 WEEKS EARLIER AND THE SALES TESTED AND IT DID THE SAME THING, WIFE WAS IN THE JEEP AND IT JOLTED HER AND SHE ALSO AS A SPINAL INJURY AND HAD JUST GOTTEN A SPINAL INJECTION. THEN THE OWNER OF THE DEALERSHIP DISCONNECTED THE BACK UPS SYSTEM AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITHE SERVICE IN 2 WEEKS. I THINK THEY SHOULD TAKE IT BACK AS A LEMON AND REIMBURSE ME THE FULL AMOUNT. ? DAMAGE TO THE BREAKS AND QUESTIONABLE INJURY TO US.

THE BACKUP SYSTEM WAS FAULTY. 1. WHEN IN THE REVERSE MODE THE BACK UP CAMERA SENSES WHEN AN OBJECT IS CLOSE AND INITIATES THE BRACKS. 2. I PUT IN REVERSE AND CHECKED AROUND INCLUDING THE SCREEN AND STARTED TO BACK UP AND THE BRAKES JOLTED AND STOPPED THE JEEP WHEN THERE WAS NOTHING IN SITE TO INDICATED ANY THING THERE. IT JOLTED ME AND I HAVE A SPINAL CONDITION AND IT HURT. I DID IT AGAIN TO SEE IF IT WAS A FLUK AND IT DID IT AGAIN. I PICKED MY WIFE UP AND WE WENT TO THE DEALER WHICH WE PAID CASH FOR IT ONLY 2 WEEKS EARLIER AND THE SALES TESTED AND IT DID THE SAME THING, WIFE WAS IN THE JEEP AND IT JOLTED HER AND SHE ALSO AS A SPINAL INJURY AND HAD JUST GOTTEN A SPINAL INJECTION. THEN THE OWNER OF THE DEALERSHIP DISCONNECTED THE BACK UPS SYSTEM AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITHE SERVICE IN 2 WEEKS. I THINK THEY SHOULD TAKE IT BACK AS A LEMON AND REIMBURSE ME THE FULL AMOUNT. ? DAMAGE TO THE BREAKS AND QUESTIONABLE INJURY TO US.
