The fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.

Potential Risk:
Fuel pump failure can cause an engine stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will replace the fuel pump module, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 6, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are KGC and KGD. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recall numbers 21V-215 and 20V-314.

Safety Issue:

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Acura TLX, 2016-2020 Acura MDX, 2016 and 2018-2019 Pilot, 2017 and 2019 Ridgeline, and 2018-2019 Odyssey vehicles. Due to a manufacturing error, the connecting rod bearing in the engine may wear and seize, damaging the engine.

Potential Risk:
A damaged engine may run improperly or stall while driving, increasing the risk of a fire, crash, or injury.
FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will inspect and repair, or replace the engine as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed March 28, 2024. 2016-2017 Acura MDX owner letters were mailed November 1, 2024. 2016-2020 Acura MDX owner letters are expected to be mailed in mid-December 2024. Honda began mailing owner notification letters as of March 18, 2024. 2015-2016 Acura owner letters are expected to be mailed mid-December 2024, 2018 Acura TLX owner letters are expected to be mailed the end of March/early April 2024, 2019 Acura TLX owner letters are expected to be mailed mid-May 2024, 2020 Acura TLX owner letters are expected to be mailed mid-June 2024, and 2016-2020 Acura MDX owner letters are expected to be mailed January 27, 2025. Safety Issue:

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2023 Odyssey, 2019-2022 Pilot, and 2019-2023 Passport vehicles. Due to a faulty Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) communication coaxial cable connector, the rearview camera image may not appear on the display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Potential Risk:
A rearview camera that does not display an image can reduce the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will replace the MOST cable harness and install a straightening cover over the vehicle cable connector, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 24, 2023. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are EEL, ZEM, and SFC.

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2019 Passport, 2016-2019 Pilot, and 2017-2020 Ridgeline vehicles. The hood latch striker may become damaged and separate from the hood, which can result in the hood opening while driving.

Potential Risk:
A hood that opens while driving can obstruct the driver's view and increase the risk of a crash.

Safety Issue:

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Passport and Pilot vehicles equipped with Continental tires. On the affected vehicles, it is possible that one or more tires were cured for too long during tire production.

Potential Risk:
Overcured tires may develop a break in the sidewall, resulting in sudden air loss or belt edge separation, which could lead to tread/belt loss. Either condition can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
FREE Recall Solution:
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect all four tires and replace them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began April 22, 2021. Owners may contact American Honda Motor Co. customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is UA2.

Incorrect central network software programming may cause several errors to occur that can delay or prevent the rearview camera image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rearview Mirrors."

Potential Risk:
A delayed or inoperative rearview camera display can reduce the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Honda will notify owners that updated software is available. Owners have the option to either follow the mailed instructions to download and update the software for free, or visit a dealer to have the software update performed, free of charge. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Odyssey, 2019-2020 Passport, and 2019-2021 Pilot vehicles. Incorrect instrument panel control module software can cause the instrument panel to not display critical information, such as engine oil pressure, speedometer, and gear selector position until the next ignition cycle. Additionally, it can prevent the rearview camera image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 101, "Control and Displays" and 111, "Rearview Mirrors."

Potential Risk:
Operating a vehicle without a functioning instrument panel or rearview camera display increases the risk of a crash.

As such, these vehicles may fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection" and 219, "Windshield Zone Intrusion."

Potential Risk:
In the event of a crash, incomplete body welding may provide inadequate protection to occupants, increasing the risk of an injury.

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2019 Honda Ridgeline and Pilot vehicles. The mounting holes for the clip that secures the right center pillar trim panel may be larger than intended. In the event of a crash necessitating right side curtain air bag deployment, the clip may not hold the center pillar trim panel in position and it may potentially interfere with the curtain air bag deployment. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 214, "Side Impact Protection," and 226, "Ejection Mitigation."

Potential Risk:
In the event of a crash, if the curtain air bag does not deploy as intended, it can increase the risk of injury.

Potential Consequences:

Emissions System Problem code appeared on dash with check engine light on. I took the car to the dealer immediately and they ran codes and tests on it and stated the Fuel injectors need replaced. Doing research on the fuel injectors on the 2019 Honda Pilot I came across the NHTSA article how other 2019 Honda Pilots have already had issues but my VIN is not coming up with this error per everyone I have talked at with Honda. per the policy stated by NHTSA below: DATE: February 11, 2021 TO: All Honda Sales, Service & Parts Managers, and Personnel FROM: Brad Ortloff, Manager Auto Campaign Administration Dept. Re: UPDATE - Warranty Extension: 2018-19 Odyssey, 2016-19 Pilot, 2017-19 Ridgeline V6 Fuel Injector On, November 24, 2020, American Honda announced a warranty extension for certain 2016 Pilot vehicles. Today, February 11, 2021 American Honda is announcing an expansion to the vehicles covered under this warranty extension. Certain 2018-19 Odyssey, 2017-19 Pilot, and 2017-19 Ridgeline vehicles are being added to this market action. American Honda is extending the warranty coverage of the fuel injectors to 10 years from the original date of purchase or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. BACKGROUND The fuel injectors may not have been manufactured to proper specifications. As a result, debris from the high pressure pump or the fuel injector machining process may cause internal wear or clogging inside one or more injectors. FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Potential Consequences:

I was provided an email on my 2019 Honda Pilot in December 2023. I called my local Honda dealership to schedule the repair. I was scheduled and the day of my appointment they called to cancel stating the parts were not in. I waited till January 2024 and called back and they stated that they are still working out a plan with Honda and at this time no parts are available but they should be coming in the next month or two. I just got a letter in the mail today stating that it is going to be fall 2024 before parts are available. After reading this safety, recall letter I received from Honda it stating why the vehicles under recall, and the safety consequence regarding it. My check engine light is not on however, my vehicle has been acting like it is going to stall out several times while I’m driving under 35 mph. This morning 01/30/2024, I was travelling in the right lane of two on the highway. The vehicle slowed rapidly just about to a stop. I barely had time to pull to the right shoulder. I narrowly was struck from a vehicle travelling behind. This was from one of the safety mechanisms in the Pilot SUV I think the lane departure sensor. This was very scary. I feel this is a huge safety concern and need to report it. If I didn't have a shoulder what the heck would have happened to me. For several months there was a crackling sound coming from the dashboard/ speakers. I mentioned this problem to my service advisor on at least 2 different appointments and even showed him a recording of the problem. It was never fixed. Finally, My entertainment center stopped working altogether. It would not even turn on. I once again reminded my service advisor about the crackling/ popping sounds and wondered if these problems were related. They stated a cable was loose, reconnected and my entertainment center began to work again. Unfortunately, the crackling and popping sound continued. When using the audio system, the speakers would abruptly make crackling and popping noises, similar to static noises, which caused the audio to interrupt and cut out. Even when I turned the audio off, the speakers continued to make the crackling and popping sounds. This was extremely nerve recking, and caused safety concerns because I was not sure what was going on and where sounds were coming from when I first begin having this issue with the car. It happened randomly. The audio would also stop and dvd would stop working where image no longer appeared on the back screen. I took it to the dealership again today and received a quote for about $1,600.00 to have it repaired. I have found multiple complains online for this same problem. Honda was well aware of the problem and should extend warranty and cover my repair cost fully.
