The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle was jerking and hesitating. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Honda Odyssey 2019 slips during highway speed and has no acceleration while the engines rpm goes up. Very dangerous at highway speed and then will have a large clank noise and go into gear. Honda doesn't acknowledge the issue with their 9 speed transmission but their are tons of complaints on the web with the same issue I have. It happens at lower speed too at stop lights and is a safety concern for me when my wife is driving out children around.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the tailgate will not open. Yes, I can have it inspected. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This limits the ability to use the tailgate. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? I have brought the car into the dealership to fix the tailgate. The motor was replaced and they stated they sealed the back to prevent water from getting in. It has since broken again and currently it will not open. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The first time it broke the dealership inspected and fixed the problem. It is now broken again and I haven't brought it into the dealership yet. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Water leaked into the back of my van through the plastic molding at the top of the lift gate. I was told the water ruined the control module. The part I was told would rrun $850 to replace. I looked the control module online at a gunuine Honda parts catalogue & it's $121. They tell me there is no guarantee that this will work. If it does not, then they recommend the replacement of the rear wiring harness which lists at the same Honda parts site fo $2,101.64 but this dealership wants to charge $8,500 plus $900 for new carpeting. Looking at the auto blogs, it seems that this is a recurring issue with the 2018-2019 Odysseys.

If this is such a frequent issue with so many cards how is this not a recall?

Defect Description:
FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
My 2019 odyssey has occasionally stalled while at lights. We had received the safety recall in the mail months ago. Though it states they currently have NO FIX for this dangerous issue and that you have an increased risk of crash or injury. And that it wont be able to pass emissions. TODAY my vehicle stalled out while in motion. While transporting my four small children. By the grace of God it didnt result in an accident. I contacted my local honda dealer who told me to contact America Honda since they have no fix per honda for the recall at this time. I did so and they told me they cant do anything about it and to contact my dealer. They do not provide loaners for any reason no matter the safety concern. The check engine light it also on due to the issue and wont be able to pass emissions later on, and america honda says oh well, contact your local dealer. They should have an answer. They have stated to me that america honda hasn’t relayed information to them and dont know what to do at this point. My family’s safety is in danger because Honda cant find a fix. What do I do?
