Infotainment system crashes/reboots while operating Apple CarPlay. Causing maps, music, and other functionality to be unresponsive. Some think it’s because of the CPU overheating inside the unit. It is available for inspection. This causes the driver to take their eyes off the road due to an unusual occurrence in the vehicle. Problem is hard to replicate. Happens randomly. Problem has not been inspected. Problem happens without warning and occurs in all conditions of driving/infotainment use. Problem first appeared after 3 months of ownership (January 2021).
Corrective Action:

SEAT BELTS
Potential Consequences:
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated while her daughter was driving at approximately 45 MPH and in heavy traffic, the vehicle in front of the contact's daughter stopped suddenly and the daughter crashed into the rear end of the other vehicle. The contact stated that the force of the impact deployed the air bag and the seat belt had locked up. The contact's daughter was able to unbuckle the seat belt, however, it would not retract into the normal position. There were no injuries to the daughter or the other driver, however, the daughter's vehicle had to be towed away. The police were on the scene and filed a report. The vehicle was towed to a collision repair shop. The contact stated all of the body repair work was completed, however, the seat belt was on national back order and the vehicle had only been partially repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 51,084.

I received an indication on my dash that there was an issue with the SRS system. I took the vehicle to a certified Honda dealership for diagnostic treatment and it was determined that the wires on the passenger seat had been rubbing on the track that the seat slides on and consequently tore the SRS wires near the passenger seat belt causing a failure in the restraint system.

I received an indication on my dash that there was an issue with the SRS system. All of these issues/codes began at the exact same time and it seems this is a widespread problem with Honda Accords manufactured around this year based on prior reports on this site, recalls to subsequent models, and other information publicly available on the internet. When will we get the same recall that has been offered to other models? My vehicle only has 58,000 miles and change on it. There's no reason for it to be functioning in this manner other than its defective manufacturing.

Last month I started to have lights that showed my lane assist, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation system, and road departure mitigation system were not functioning. I took my car to the dealer and was initially told that it was an SRS unit failure. Later, they changed and said the SRS unit is fine but the camera is damaged. Honda is considering this normal wear/tear and will not cover this repair even though the car has never been in an accident. The car will not pass inspection unless this is fixed. The airbags will not deploy until this is fixed and the car is therefore dangerous to drive. The camera is on back order and it will be at least a month before it can be repaired.
