On another occasion, while the vehicle was parked for approximately four days, the doors were closed while in Sleep Mode, and none of the exterior lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the battery was not holding a charge, and the battery was replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred approximately a week later. The vehicle was taken to another dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that a software update needed to be performed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,475.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Potential Consequences:
My Ford Maverick truck was purchased and delivered on [XXX]. From the very first day, I have experienced issues with the central infotainment screen. Specifically, the screen frequently freezes, particularly when using Google Maps. My vehicle is an essential tool for my daily work, as I am an air conditioning technician and spend long hours driving. Additionally, I have noticed a significant delay in the rearview camera display, which also frequently freezes. This poses a considerable risk to pedestrians and vehicles that may pass behind my truck, turning it into a serious safety and convenience issue. I have taken my vehicle to the dealership three times, leaving it for several days on each occasion, but the problems persist after every visit. I purchased my truck from "Planet Ford Spring" in Spring, TX, but due to its proximity to my residence, I have carried out maintenance and filed complaints regarding this issue at "Tomball Ford" in Tomball, TX. I have repeatedly requested that the service advisors involved in my case replace the screen or upgrade it to a more reliable system. However, they claim that, according to Ford’s procedures, they are not authorized to make such changes. I urgently request a definitive solution to this issue, as I cannot continue visiting the dealership month after month hoping for a resolution. This problem must be addressed immediately for safety reasons. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
The fuel tank is leaking where the fill tube enters the tank on the drivers side. It was at the dealership for this issue once. A hose clamp was found to be loose. It was tightened and considered fixed. Just tonight while.the truck had a full.tank I decided to inspect the repair. I found it to be leaking still. I have read of 22MY trucks having an issue with the interface between the fuel tank and the tank inlet hose barb fitting. (The white part in the attached picture.) I only noticed the gas smell originally whith a full tank and while parked in the garage. The fumes where overwhelming.

SERVICE BRAKES
Potential Consequences:
It happened twice in 3 days. The first time I lost electrical power, the battery died. I use a trickle charger to recharge it for 4 hours, then it functioned as normal for one day, I went to the dealer for service and they looked at it and said there was nothing wrong and sent me home. On the third day, it died again. All electrical power was lost, the car was locked up, and could not be shifted to neutral for towing. It is now sitting at my driveway waiting for Ford roadside service to tow it to a dealer for diagnostic and services.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Potential Consequences:
I have a 2024 hybrid Maverick with 17,000 miles on. The The 12 volt battery is a known issue in the vehicle that Ford has failed to address. When I went to go start my truck the other morning the battery had failed. I hooked up a jump pack to the proper terminals under the hood so that I could start the vehicle. I was successful in starting the vehicle after that. I had every warning message pop up on the dashboard. I turn the vehicle off and try to restart a few times to no avail. I had somewhere that I had to be so I started to drive. The accelerator pedal did not register at all from zero to all the way down to the floor. The truck was accelerating on its own to about 35 mph. The brakes worked the steering worked the accelerator pedal did not register at all. I parked the vehicle to try it again three or four times each time same. Then I parked for sometime maybe an hour. I tried it and it seemed to drive just fine but with a check engine light. The vehicle through all sorts of low voltage codes. This is unacceptable and should never happen to a vehicle when jump stared. I have never seen a vehicle operate the accelerator without input from the driver and I could literally put the pedal to the floor multiple times and it did not rev up or speed up at all just continue to accelerate on its own accord to about 35 mph. Going down hills the brakes work but as soon as I let off the brakes it would accelerate again. I am very busy and I have not had time to go to the dealership with the issue. I don't have time for them to take my truck for multiple days just to tell me what I already know the 12 volt battery is no good. Now I am stuck with a need to replace a battery on a vehicle that is less than 1-year-old and less than 20,000 miles just unacceptable. They could give me another battery but from what I have read the battery fails time and time again. I also have issues trusting the vehicle now if I do have to jumpstart it.

Defect Description:
ENGINE
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
The vehicle goes into what they call a sleep mode. It shuts systems down to save the battery. At this point, it’s more of a nuisance than a major problem. Fortunately, every time I got in the vehicle, it started and was fine but what happens is it shuts down all the remote functions, you can’t use your app on the phone go to get in the car at night the interior lights aren’t working. It’s pitch black, just a inconvenience but Ford has no answer that answer was to shut down all the remote functions on the car to me that doesn’t make sense. Why have those features if you can’t use them?
