Defect Description:
FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Potential Consequences:
While driving in traffic on the highway at about 20-30 mph, traffic in my lane slowed further. In response, I applied what should have been an adequate amount of brake pressure to slow down and stop if needed given the following distance I had left. Initially I progressively applying more braking pressure, but after a ~3 seconds of this I slammed the brake down. Instead, the vehicle did not slow as expected in the following ~5 seconds. Despite having slammed on the brake at that point, the vehicle only then showed the emergency braking alert and emergency braked in addition to my foot being fully down on the brake. However, this was too late as my passenger and I rear-ended a Toyota Tacoma. They and myself have filed against my insurance, so there is an accident on my car report that I know has depreciated my new vehicle’s value. Although I do not currently have the Toyota’s estimate, I believe I can ask the owner or my insurance for this. Previously, I had several rear-ending close calls in the car when in traffic and I knew that I often struggled to slow down at stop lights when they first turn yellow. POWER TRAIN
Potential Consequences:
New incident for me on a recent road trip. I had the check engine light activate once on me back in May when I was on the interstate with cruise set around 75 MPH and I hit the accelerator to go around someone. Just the Yellow/Orange light and it disappeared a day later. On this last trip, same scenario, but the vehicle threw a RED powertrain failure light and went into limp mode. The dash instructed me to pull over when safely possible. Power to accessories(but not HVAC) was on, but drivetrain was not functioning. Luckily, once I got over to the shoulder, I was able to reset the vehicle by doing a complete shutdown of the vehicle. It took a couple of tries, but it came back to life. We were able to continue on with no issues at all other than a Yellow/Orange engine light that disappeared in a couple of hours of continued interstate driving. This has now happened three times total all under the same driving situations.

SERVICE BRAKES
Potential Consequences:
There's an issue every time I pull in a parking spot or when coming to a slow stop at a red light where there's an abrupt braking issue - I slowly press the brake and it would not slow smoothly sometimes even make a loud noise which sounds like the hydraulic brake all of a sudden working when its supposed to be smooth breaking - this is dangerous as it is random and may come as a surprise when just trying to come to a slow stop. I believe its the transition between the e brakes and the hydraulic brakes its just not smooth at all.

When my wife and I were driving in a slow traffic situation I was applying the brakes and it was as if the brakes were not working until all the sudden they locked up. we thought we were going to rear end the vehicle in front of us. Driving northbound on Bertelsen, Eugene, OR 97402. There is a transition from asphalt to concrete with a slight bump 60ft from the stop at the light on Roosevelt. I was traveling 35 and was slowed to 25 mph at that point while actively braking. I went over the transition when the car made a big bang noise like the hybrid system disengaged hard, the tires chirped like the locked up for an instant and then the brake pedal went hard and I rolled into the intersection unable to stop until about half way into the intersection. I called the dealership and they can't look at it for a month and a half and didn't seem to concerned about it.

The vehicle will not crank and has no power. I have been getting the deep sleep notification nearly everyday. The wiring harness seems to be the issue but dealership says they find nothing wrong. Had service 4 times for dead maverick and they have replaced the battery 3 times. The vehicle will only start if I jump it through the hood terminals. If it sits for more that 24-48 hours I have to jump start the vehicle. FordPass app is useless due to being in deep sleep mode all the time. Seems others are having the issue with the wiring harness and C1617e eyelet terminal.
