Potential Consequences:

Driver side door started to make a noise while using it. Shortly after the door was hard to close and open at the same time and a pop sound happened and door could not close at all due to door arm breaking loose inside of door. I had to take the door apart and try to get the arm out which was a battle but I managed. Door swings open and closed way too easy now. Driver side window now has scratches from going up and down. I am taking my car in for a recall repair on September 15, 2023 and at that time the dealership will be looking into what they can do for me regarding the door arm repair since this happend just outside of the 36,000 mile warranty. The Ford Escape 2020 is at this moment at 38,525.

While driving on the highway my dash kept flashing all these different errors , my car kept changing the way it was driving . I got off went to ford dealer ! They said probably a sensor can’t look at it for 10 days and yes it is fine to drive . I did not think so ! I brought to my mechanic , replaced AWD module ! Which has been found to be an issue in this vehicle ! I felt unsafe . There have been recalls on this issue ! They say had do be built on a certain date ! Really , not if you keep searching ! It should be covered under drive train. Safety issue ! The lights going off are a distraction in itself .

The driver's side door made popping or cracking noises when opening and closing. It eventually locked in place while open, and it could not be closed. I took it to the dealer where they initially said that the check strap needed to be replaced. After the part arrived and they disassembled the door, it was discovered that the welds on the component that holds the check strap in place were broken. The car was moved to the body/collision shop for further assessment. In the meantime, I've discovered this has happened with several other 2020 Escapes, but there is no recall as of yet. Obviously, this is a manufacturer defect that needs to be addressed in a more global and urgent manner.
