Fuel System Problem In GM SUVs and Trucks

The vehicles affected include: 2020 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV; 2020 Chevrolet Camaro, Silverado 1500, Suburban and Tahoe; and 2020 GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon and Yukon XL.

GM has decided that a defect affecting the fuel system exists in certain 2020 Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC SUVs and trucks.

 

The fuel pumps installed on these vehicles may be missing the component that regulates the pressure within the pump. The problem can result it over pressurization cracks and fuel leaks within the system. If a fuel leak should encounter an ignition source, a fire could occur. Owners with vehicles experiencing this problem may notice a fuel odor or see spilled fuel on the ground.

 

The vehicles affected include: 2020 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV; 2020 Chevrolet Camaro, Silverado 1500, Suburban and Tahoe; and 2020 GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon and Yukon XL.

 

Dealers will correct the problem by replacing the fuel pump. GM's number for this recall is N192283991 and the NHTSA campaign number is 19V-837.
