(Tesla) is recalling certain 2016-2023 Model S, Model X, 2017-2023 Model 3, and 2020-2023 Model Y vehicles equipped with Full Self-Driving Beta (FSD Beta) software or pending installation. The FSD Beta system may allow the vehicle to act unsafe around intersections, such as traveling straight through an intersection while in a turn-only lane, entering a stop sign-controlled intersection without coming to a complete stop, or proceeding into an intersection during a steady yellow traffic signal without due caution. In addition, the system may respond insufficiently to changes in posted speed limits or not adequately account for the driver's adjustment of the vehicle's speed to exceed posted speed limits.

WHILE VISITING A FUNERAL HOME IN MELROSE, MA., I NEEDED TO BACK INTO A SPOT TO BE ABLE TO TAKE PART IN THE FUNERAL PROCESSION. I PULLED OUT OF THE SPOT I WAS IN AND PROCEEDED TO PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE TO BACK INTO THE SAME PARKING SPOT. AT THE SAME MOMENT THAT I STARTED TO BACK IN THE CAR SURGED AND MADE AN ARC IN THE PARKING LOT ONLY STOPPING AFTER I HIT A PARKED CAR WITH SUCH FORCE THAT IT CAUSED TWO MORE CARS TO BE HIT BY THE IMPACT. HERE IS A MODEL X IN THE JUNKYARD: HTTPS://WWW.IAAI.COM/VEHICLE?ITEMID=26864884&ROWNUMBER=11&LOADRECENT=TRUE IT HAS NOT BEEN IN A COLLISION. THE AIR-BAGS HAVE NOT DEPLOYED. THERE IS NO IMPACT DAMAGE. THE SUSPENSION ON THE LH SIDE HAS COLLAPSED CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE BODYWORK AROUND THE WHEEL ARCHES. THIS SAME FAILURE OF SUSPENSION COLLAPSE IS HAPPENING REPEATEDLY TO TESLA CARS. IT IS VERY CONCERNING THAT INSTEAD OF REMEDYING THE PROBLEM AND REPAIRING THESE LIGHTLY DAMAGED VEHICLES THEY ARE INSTEAD BEING AUCTIONED OFF AS SALVAGE VEHICLES. NORMALLY AN EXPENSIVE CAR LIKE THIS WHICH HAS SUFFERED ONLY MINOR DAMAGE WOULD BE REPAIRED. IT WOULD APPEAR THAT TESLA IS SCARED THAT A REPAIRED VEHICLE WOULD PROBABLY FAIL AGAIN AND THAT THEY WOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE. PLEASE LAUNCH A FULL INVESTIGATION INTO THE CAUSE OF THESE FAILURES.
