Recall Date: May 17, 2018
Safety Issue:

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.

Potential Risk:
If the vehicle maintains its speed or accelerates despite attempts to deactivate the cruise control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the software, and perform a software flash on the engine or powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began June 4, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Note: Owners are advised to stop using cruise control until the software update has been performed. In the event that cruise control cannot be disengaged while driving, owners should firmly and steadily apply the brakes and shift the transmission to neutral, placing the vehicle in park once it has stopped.

Recall Date: Feb 8, 2018
Safety Issue:

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2017-2018 RAM 1500, 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis, 4500 Cab Chassis, and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles, all equipped with a column shifter. Pushing the brake pedal for prolonged periods when the vehicle is running and in PARK may cause the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) pin to stick in the open position. With the pin in the open position, the transmission can be shifted out of PARK into any gear without pushing the brake pedal or having the key in the ignition.

Potential Risk:
Being able to shift the transmission without pushing the brake pedal and/or without a key in the ignition can increase the risk of an unintended vehicle rollaway that may result in personal injury or a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
Chrysler will notify owners and dealers will update the Body Control Module software. Dealers will also test the BTSI operation, replacing the solenoid as necessary. The recall began February 26, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is U11.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling various Dodge, Chrysler, and RAM vehicles equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V824-0103.pdf. Potential Risk:
If the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury in the event of a fire.

Hello and good day, I purchased a 2018 DODGE RAM 3500 with 82k miles for $31k back in March 2024 @ Cambridge Truck located 5640 Glenn Hwy, Cambridge, OH 43725; Phone number 740-255-5200. My down payment was $8500 and my financial agreement was for $800 a month. My family and I were moving back to Connecticut and we needed a truck for all of our furniture/belongings, and for my fiancé's new landscaping business. On our way home the shifter wasn't shifting properly into gears but we still made it home, thank GOD. We contacted Capitol Garage Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM which was the closest Dodge. I brought the truck in for a diagnostic and the truck was diagnosed with a faulty/failed transmission. Parts were ordered back in July and expedited in September. I've been in contact with Cambridge Truck and I've been unsuccessful getting anywhere with Cambridge or Dodge even though I purchase an extended warranty the day of purchase. I was having a full blown anxiety attack the day of purchase as well, as I was overwhelmed. I have [XXX] and a [XXX]. I've made every payment including $400 a month for insurance for a vehicle I had on the road for a week. Not to mention I had to extend my Mercedes benz lease as I had no truck to rely on. My Mercedes mileage contract was broken and I was unable to recover my $15,000 down payment. I also had to pay $1200 in lease extension costs, and $800 for insurance. I finally had to purchase another car in October with all of had in my bank $3,700. The truck was for my fiancé's business which has been on hold for 10 mouths, another $100k we're out. This is a huge loss and I'm being ignored and offered nothing. The dealership is well aware of what I'm out as I've requested a refund several times via text to the sales team. After further investigation the 2018 Dodge RAM 3500 has many recalls since 2017. THIS TRUCK CAN'T BE FIXED, THERE'S NO REMEDY OR UPDATES AVAILABLE. I NEED A REFUND! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Potential Consequences:

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding the "fix" performed on my vehicle related to the V06 Drag Link Recall. The fix, which involved checking the torque settings and welding the locknuts to the adjustment sleeve, has caused significant issues with the alignment of my vehicle. As a result, my truck is unable to be aligned, creating unsafe driving conditions. Vehicles with improper alignment present a serious safety risk, including uneven tire wear, reduced handling capabilities, and compromised braking performance. These dangers not only affect the stability of the vehicle but also pose a threat to the safety of the driver, passengers, and others on the road. The current situation with my vehicle’s alignment, as a result of this inadequate recall fix, is unacceptable and needs to be addressed immediately. I have already attempted to resolve this issue by working directly with a dealership, but after an initial conversation where they assured me the issue would be taken care of, I was subsequently ignored and "ghosted." This lack of follow-through is deeply disappointing, especially considering the severity of the situation. It is my understanding that the fix originally performed on my vehicle was not the permanent solution. The real fix, as I have learned through discussions with other affected customers and further research, involves the installation of a new drag link, followed by a full alignment, at no cost to the customer. I would also like to emphasize that, as evidenced on various online forums, other customers who have encountered similar issues with the V06 Drag Link Recall have had their concerns addressed properly. In those cases, Ram has taken full accountability for the problem and provided the permanent fix as promised. I expect consistent treatment and the same resolution for my vehicle, as I should not be treated any differently than those who have had their issues rectified.

SERVICE BRAKES

Potential Consequences:

HI, My 2018 RAM 3500, had had a Anti-lock brake control module light on and off about a hundred times a day for the past year, I just spoke to the Ram Service manager at Leith Ram in Wendel NC and she told me that Ram has no fix for this part, and it has been on backorder for over 2.5 years, you can have total brake failure with this part being defective, how has the NTSB not stepped in and put some pressure on them to get this fixed, there are hundreds of thousands of trucks out there with this problem. Why is it being allowed to continue for years and years without a solution??

Potential Consequences:

ABS & Traction Light and ding ding, then go away for a while then it all comes back. Truck is out of warranty, so any cost is mine. They want you to pay for diagnostic even there is a code. Quoted cost was around $800 to $1000. The first time this happened the code said to replace the 4wd shift motor. Done that problem went away for awhile then came back. I am retired and these cost don't fit in real good. We purchased the truck new. I have read that this problem is not new, just ongoing. When this is happening the 4wd and cruse doesn't work or shuts off. It appears that RAM isn't going to do anything until people start getting killed. Then are forced to fix it.
