Potential Consequences:

While driving my ram truck, a notice goes across the cluster center saying to shift vehicle to park. No other lights go on like check engine lights etc. But the truck goes to a complete stop and makes you shift in to park then back in to drive this is dangerous because it happens to me while I am driving to include one time coming off the off ramp on the freeway possibly making someone rear end me due to the vehicle stalling I have seen lots of these issues on the ram forum this is downright dangerous. I will take it to the shop but others who have had the same or similar issues state there is no fix and it is random so it is hard to reproduce.

At times the transmission does not shift from 2 to 3 or 3 to 4 gears. Causes the engine RPM to reach red level. Have to pull over turn off vehicle and restart for the transmission to shift again. This is suppose to be a lifetime transmission and not need any maintenance. It seems to be a common problem on many forums for this particular transmission. Or it jumps into gear instead of the smooth shifting that it is suppose to do. Many people seem to be having the same issues.

When i first drive the truck while driving when i am decelerating to come to a stop, the truck will slip out of gear and tell me to put the shifter into park before driving. This has also happened at a yeild sign and while slowing down for a turn. This is very dangerous and someone will be hurt if not addressed. I took to the dealer in Daphne AL Tamaron to get this resolved and a few other things going with the truck the radio a recall on abs system and exhaust leak. witch had nothing to do with this. they were in contact with the auto maker i guess Cylser. they looked at the camshafts and found nothing wrong no does the truck have a codes. I was told to come get my truck because they couldnt find the issue but everything else was fixed. I currently have around 105,000 miles but this has been happening for at least 50k around 30times some almost causing a wreak. i have read that they really havent found an issue besides the wiring harness but not sure this fixed the issue online forms. This will one day cause a fatal accident if not address hopefully not me, or anyone else.

Sep 05, 2024 Manufacturer Recall Number: 75B NHTSA Recall Number: 24V-653 Recall Status Recall Incomplete Summary Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard ("FMVSS") 571.126 S5.1.2 ESC Functionality requires that the ESC system "Is operational during all phases of driving including acceleration, coasting, and deceleration (including braking) [ ... ]." Suspect vehicles may experience the ESC system being disabled when certain conditions are met. Safety Risk Failure of the ESC system when intervention is expected and/or relied upon can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. Remedy FCA US will conduct a voluntary safety recall on all affected vehicles to update the ABS control module software.

Additional Notes:

When I attempted to suddenly brake once I saw the car in front of me braking, my brakes locked and the truck slid into the vehicle in front of me. The failure of the ESC system did not allow the expected intervention that is relied upon to avoid a vehicle crash without prior warning. I was in the deceleration phase of braking quickly, but the brakes did not respond in a timely manner. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Potential Consequences:

The issues started with the sunroof not closing. And the uconnect touch screen inoperable ( it went black and no options available ) It seemed to be a fluke and resolved itself. But within a few weeks the icons for the driver and passenger seat heaters were no longer on the screen. Now that the season has changed and temps have dropped, the drivers side heater will automatically come on when the truck is started and it’s below a certain degree outside. It gets crazy hot and will only shut off when the truck is turned off. This was followed by the icons for the radio options resorting themselves and the one for USB disappearing as well. The usb connection still works, but it has to automatically switch over when plugged in, it cannot be manually selected. Lastly the ParkAssist seems to have a mind of its own. Sometimes it will function as intended. Other times when I start the truck it flashes a warning that the park assist is unavailable and the lights on the switches are on showing it’s been disengaged. When pushed they will flash and then turn solid again. Other times it will happen while I’m driving. There will be a ding and the unavailable warning will flash on the screen. When the icons first disappeared I called mopar/uconnect customer service. They tried to walk me through some diagnostics but none of it worked. They suggested maybe getting a software update. But couldn’t tell me if that would fix it or not. When I asked if it didn’t they just said I’d have to replace the whole uconnect system.
