Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2020 Range Rover Evoque vehicles. The supplemental restraint system (SRS) warning light software is programmed incorrectly, which may cause the warning light to malfunction and intermittently illuminate.

Potential Risk:
An SRS system warning light that falsely illuminates could prevent the detection of an actual air bag system failure, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Potential Risk:
In the event of a crash, an unfolded knee air bag may not offer the driver full protection, increasing the risk for injury.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2020 Range Rover Evoque vehicles equipped with climate specification front seats trimmed with "Dinamica" cloth. In the event of a fire, the seat material may burn quicker than allowed. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 302, "Flammability of Interior Materials."

Potential Risk:
A seat cover that burns too quickly can increase the risk of injury in the event of a fire.
FREE Recall Solution:

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2020 Range Rover Evoque vehicles equipped with a replacement part for the right and/or left-side outer second-row seat belt assembly. These seat belt assemblies may not function properly in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection" and 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."

Potential Risk:
Seat belts that do not function properly can increase the risk of injury during a crash.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2020 Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque vehicles. A software error may cause the instrument cluster to randomly alternate the speedometer and odometer units between Miles Per Hour (MPH) and Kilometers Per Hour (KM/H) without driver input to the display unit. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Control and Displays."

Potential Risk:
The changing displays may cause driver distraction or confusion and possibly result in excessive speed, which can increase the risk of a crash.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque MHEV vehicles. The 48 volt electrical system may experience an overload event, causing a failure of the Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET) and result in a DCDC converter electrical short-circuit.

Potential Risk:
An electrical short-circuit increases the risk of a fire.

Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle software, free of charge. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2020 Range Rover Evoque non-PHEV vehicles equipped with 18-inch wheels. The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) recommended pressure has been set incorrectly in the instrument cluster. As a result, the TPMS warning light will not illuminate when tire pressure reaches 25% below the cold inflation pressure stated on the tire placard. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems."

Potential Risk:
Drivers may unknowingly operate the vehicle with low tire pressure, negatively impacting vehicle handling and increasing the risk of a crash.

The headliners may have been improperly manufactured without a metal plate, possibly reducing the headliner's head impact protection. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 201, "Occupant Protection in Interior Impact."

Potential Risk:
An improperly manufactured headliner may increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Potential Risk:
In the event of a crash necessitating the deployment of side curtain air bags, the metal plate could detach from the headliner and strike vehicle occupants, increasing the risk of injury.

Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will apply self-adhesive fleece tape to the metal plate and the driver and passenger sides of the headliner, free of charge. The contact owns 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The contact stated that while at a four way stop, before attempting to proceed, the vehicle stalled, and the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was restarted and resumed normal operation. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed with cam shaft failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in an unstated related recall. The failure mileage was 75,000.

Corrective Action:

One day in December i went out after it had rained. And there was condensation on the inside of the windshield inside the car. There were no windows or anything open. The next day i got in the car and the roof of the car by the sun visor and rear view mirror was dripping water. Both the 2018 and 2020 bulletins instructed dealers “to HOLD affected new vehicles that are within your control and refrain from releasing the vehicles for new vehicle sale pending completion of the rework action. Affected vehicles already in the hands of customers should be updated at the next available opportunity." Jaguar Land Rover North America knew about the issue with leaking windshields, and they were still building cars with the defect and having their dealers sell the cars without disclosing the issue to buyers. I would not have purchased this car if the problem was disclosed. Extensive water damage inside a car is a serious safety issue. My car has been sitting at the dealer since 11/29/22

Corrective Action:

11/21/22 - the car had a significant amount of water on the driver’s side floor. The windshield was leaking extensively. The headliner was saturated and the carpet in the car. The steering column was wet, and the floor mat was filled with water and frozen to the carpet. The touchscreen was not working, and the screen was completely black. Land Rover Hunt Valley confirmed the windshield leak. The headliner and carpet have been soaked and I believe water has damaged the electrical system because of the touchscreen intermittently not working. This vehicle has flood damage due to the significant water breach that occurred. The car is at risk for concealed mold and mildew. I am concerned about the long term effects water damage will have on the electrical system - electrical issues are extremely dangerous safety issues. Water damage will also cause rust and corrosion. The leaking windshield issue in Range Rover Evoque cars is a known problem to Jaguar Land Rover North America. A Technical Bulletin was issued about the problem on 11/6/18, and an After Sales Bulletin/Service Action N221 issued on 3/23/20. The leaking windshield issue is also discussed in many Range Rover Evoque online forums. There are many consumers who have leaking windshields in their Range Rover Evoques. STEERING

Potential Consequences:

Almost everyday since manufacture updated vehicle for previous recall and even before that I notice it’s worse. I constantly have to check if BSA is activated MANY times I almost hit another vehicle which thank goodness I have not yet let happen being adapted to looking in blind spot.
