Defect Description:
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
The electric motor system does not engage on my Jeep Wrangler 4xe Plug In Hybrid. When you press the accelerator pedal after a stop (e.g. at an intersection or to make a left turn), the Jeep electrical motor does not engage. The Jeep may drift into the intersection or oncoming traffic without motive force. After a period of time, the gas engine will engage. I estimate the delay to be about 30 seconds. I often depress the accelerator multiple times before the gas engine engages. This is extremely dangerous as the vehicle drifts into an intersection, and could potentially be hit by oncoming traffic. The vehicle shows an engine light identified as a voltage inconsistency in the main battery. It appears the entire electrical motive system is shut down, but the computer is still calling on it to operate. When it does not operate, the gas engine will start, but there is a significant and extremely dangerous delay. I have called the dealership and Jeep to request guidance on how to address this issue, but neither has been able to provide any assistance. They tell me there is a pending recall but no solution available.

Defect Description:
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
I was driving on [XXX] in San Diego going 75 mph and I received a number of alerts and flashing and audible sounds. When I looked at the dash it had an alert that said performance unstable pull over place vehicle in park. I immediately lost power to the accelerator and the car started to slow so I pulled over on the shoulder. Luckily, I was in the right hand side lane in the carpool section, and there was a shoulder. If there had been no shoulder, I would’ve been stuck in traffic in the lane. The car would not restart and I had to have it towed from [XXX]. Defect Description:
STEERING
Potential Consequences:
In the three years I have owned this vehicle I have had the steering damper replaced to correct uncontrollable vibrating of the steering wheel, commonly referred to as the “Death Wobble”. The issue occurs when driving at highway speeds and requires the driver to quickly slow down to stop the “wobble”. There is no warning light or detection, and the issue come on quickly. The dealer has identified the problem with the remedy being replacement of the steering damper. While this does initially fix the symptoms, it does not correct the problem, as I have had three dampers replaced in 24 months. This is obviously only a bandaid and not the correct fix for this dangerous problem. My opinion is that a recall is needed to allow for a proper repair.

Defect Description:
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
Backup camera not working (intermittent). There are times when the backup camera just gives a black screen. This is a safety issue as we can't then see what person or thing may be behind us. This can cause great damage or injury to ourselves and others. The dealership looked at the issue twice, but could not get it to malfunction, and so had no idea how to repair it.

Defect Description:
FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
Potential Consequences:
I had the most recent incident driving Westbound in the evening hours shortly before Sunset around October 10, 2024. It appears the sunlight from the setting sun triggered my adaptive cruise control and forward collision alert and triggered an alarm sound and activated emergency braking at the same time. I have had two previous incidents like this. One at the exact same location on my commute home at around the same time and maybe a week before. A third occurrence was on an Eastbound morning drive with the rising sun. All three incidents triggered emergency braking from a speed of ca. 65mph. I was able to react fast enough to deactivate the ACC by lightly pushing the brake pedal and could avoid serving or complete stopping of the vehicle. Luckily during all incidents I had no close traffic behind me, otherwise the incidents could have caused a rear end collision.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Potential Consequences:
The backup lights are no where near bright enough to safely backup at night. There is no easy way to upgrade the bulbs. This is a well know issue in the Jeep community with Wranglers. There are aftermarket solutions but I shouldn't have to spend 100's of dollars to remedy a design defect.

Defect Description:
SUSPENSION
Potential Consequences:
On several occasions the vehicle experienced the 'death wobble' this is a known issue and was recalled on earlier models but the 2021 has not been recalled. The suspension shakes aggressively out of nowhere at highway speeds. This is extremely dangerous! The entire car shakes and rattles aggressively on the highway, it is so easy to lose control of the vehicle! I could not get it to stop and had to dangerously pull over on the side of the highway!

Defect Description:
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
I purchased my Jeep March 14th 2024 I purchased my Jeep as a buy back that had already been fixed. I purchased an additional 6000 warranty to be double protected. I received a letter from FCA on 10.18.2024 stating the 95B recall letting me know my vehicle can catch on fire at anytime. They also have no fix for this issue. I want them to buy back my jeep due to this extremely dangerous recall and they refuse. I cannot begin to explain how unsafe I feel on a daily basis. This has given me extreme anxiety that I now have to take daily medication for. I think it’s criminal that they will not buy back my jeep! There has to be a class action lawsuit if not I’ll hire my own attorney. This is beyond criminal.
