ENGINE

Potential Consequences:

This is the third time we have taken our vehicle to be serviced in 2022. The first time was January 2022, next June 2022, and the third a week later after the June 2022. The issue is that the throttle body sensor light comes on and the car starts to act up and has no power. The same issue has occurred all three times. The throttlebody has been replaced twice already and we are currently waiting to see if it will need to be replaced a third time. I believe this poses a safety or hazard risk as this happens when driving during high speeds on the freeway as well as on the streets and can cause a collision.

AIR BAGS:SIDE/WINDOW:HEAD

Potential Consequences:

On 12/26/2020 I was driving down the interstate and my son lightly touched his headrest and it exploded open. I didn't realize at the time it was covered under the "x-86" extended warranty, and attempted in January 2021 to buy a replacement. Mopar canceled my order and told me to go through the dealership since it is a known issue. I did just that, and the order has been on hold since January or February of 2021. Chrysler customer service doesn't have a resolution for me, and won't talk to me anymore. Their department that specifically deals with this "x-86" issue won't even call or update my dealership Stew Hansen's, which is located at 12103 Hickman Rd, Urbandale, IA 50323. I am appalled and just want my headrest replacement. The parts manager found one in stock, but coincidentally it doesn't have the correct part number that Chrysler wants to honor to fix this for me. Chrysler is unwilling to make an exception for the part number and rectify this defective part. I want answers now. Please note that I have gotten married since this incident, and the dealership has my case filed under my maiden name [XXX], not [XXX]. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Potential Consequences:

SUV intermittently stops with no warning which is unsafe. It’s been happening for a few weeks. I have been in traffic multiple times and the vehicle just stops with no warning and no engine light alert. I’ve almost been hit from behind since the vehicle loses all power and have to guide it to the side of the road or to the middle turn lane. I took the vehicle to NTB and the jeep gave a code for camshaft. I know there was a recall for this, but it seem that my jeep is not part of that recall. I’m not sure why because I’m having the same issue as the recall. Recall S89.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Potential Consequences:

The car's engine will shut off without notice. Sometimes it happens when the car is in park, but more problematically, it happens on the highway or at intersections (there is no discernible pattern to what triggers the failure) . Additionally, when the engine shuts off, the wheel and pedals stiffen up, making pulling into a breakdown lane difficult. This is an issue that has been resolved before by replacing the crankshaft sensor after identifying there was an issue with it via check engine light/code. (There have been previous recalls for the crankshaft sensor for these Jeep models.) However, after replacing the crankshaft sensor on two separate occasions, the issue is surfacing again. Dealers have no way of rectifying this very severe issue until there is a code that emerges, forcing myself to continue driving a vehicle that can shut off at any given moment until it happens frequently enough for the issue to either be replicated in their hands, or for a code/check engine light to emerge.
