Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2021-2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L vehicles. The center stack upper display (DCSD) contains a transistor that may overheat and prevent the rearview camera image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Potential Consequences:
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The contact stated that while diving at various speeds, there was an abnormally loud screeching sound while turning the steering wheel to the left or the right. The sound was intermittent at first but became a consistent failure over time. The failure also occurred while turning and while driving straight. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the driver’s side front suspension strut was leaking, and the lower control arm ball joints had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Potential Consequences:
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact turned off the vehicle. The contact restarted the vehicle and shifted into reverse(R) and the steering wheel seized. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated.
