SVC 4WD light came on, 4WD system overheated. Transmission was damaged, had to pay to rebuild entire transmission, now transfer case is needing a replacement. The warning that lead me to take it to the shop said 4WD not available service required. I would like my vehicle to be added to the recall list for this issue. NHTSA campaign number: 25V011. Jeep’s own number for this recall is 01C.

We have been having problems with the electrical panel and AC electrical for about 2 years as well. We would like a replacement vehicle of like, kind & quality as soon as possible. There are many available. With kind regards, [XXX] & [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Corrective Action:

The service 4WD light came on [XXX]. We discovered that there is a current PTU recall along with numerous other problems that are potential for recall. We spoke to the dealer (not able to help us) who referred us to the manufacturer. We spoke with Paul of US Customer care who told us to file this complaint. They do not recommend driving the car for safety reasons. There have been vehicles repaired but the repairs do no last. We have not been offered repair. POWER TRAIN

Potential Consequences:

While driving the vehicle, I heard a loud clunk, and it continued as I drove. Luckily, I was driving in town. I had to slow down and took the vehicle straight home and then took it to the dealership when I could get an appointment. The dealership examined the vehicle and determined the noise was coming from the transfer case and internal gear failure. I was told it was not drivable until this was fixed. There were no warning identifiers before this happened.
