Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain model year 2016 Honda Pilot 2WD vehicles manufactured May 4, 2015, to September 8, 2015 and 2016 Pilot 4WD vehicles manufactured May 7, 2015 to September 4, 2015. In the affected vehicles, when one of the safety systems such as tire pressure monitoring, anti-lock braking or electronic stability control malfunctions, there is potential that the instrument panel will not illuminate the corresponding warning light, however the warning lamps will illuminate when the ignition is turned off and then turned back on. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 126, "Electronic stability control systems", number 135, "Light vehicle brake systems" and number 138, "Tire pressure monitoring systems".

THE MESSAGE "KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM" SHOWED UP IN THE INFORMATION SCREEN ABOUT A FEW WEEKS AGO, IT WOULD COME UP INTERMITTENTLY, WHENEVER I START THE ENGINE, AND THE MESSAGE STAYS ON THE ENTIRE TIME THE ENGINE IS RUNNNING. WHEN THE ENGINE IS SHUT OFF, THERE WILL BE A DING, AND THE MESSAGE WILL STAY ON FOR A FEW MINUTES BEFORE GOING AWAY. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP, THEY HAD NOT ENCOUNTERED A MESSAGE LIKE THAT BEFORE, AND COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG. I ALREADY HAVE OVER 42,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE, SO THE FACTORY WARRANTY HAS RUN OUT. TODAY I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, SINCE THAT MESSAGE IS STILL SHOWING UP, AND I FINALLY HAVE THE TIME TO LEAVE IT FOR A FEW HOURS. MY VEHICLE 2016 HONDA PILOT TOURING WISH I HAVE HAD FOR APPROXIMATELY 18 MONTHS APPEARS TO BE FACTORY INSTALLED TIRE THAT ARE A POTENTIAL ROAD HAZARD THAT MAY LEAD TO SERIOUS INJURIES AND OR DEATH.I DRIVE IN CALIFORNIA WITH POSTED SPEED LIMITS OF 70 MILES PER HOUR.
