Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Accord Sedan, Accord Hybrid, and 2019-2020 Insight vehicles. A software error may cause intermittent or continuous disruptions in communication between the Body Control Module (BCM) and other components. This may result in malfunctions of various systems such as the windshield wipers and defroster, rearview camera, exterior lights, audible warning of a stopped vehicle, and power window operation. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 103, "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems" and number 111, "Rear Visibility" as well as FMVSS numbers 104, 108, 114, 118, and 305.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that after shifting to drive from reverse, the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal there was an abnormal humming sound coming the engine. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure; however, the manufacturer was unable to confirm when the part would be available. The failure mileage was 97,757. Parts distribution disconnect.

I was driving on the freeway going around 50 MPH and out of nowhere the car slammed on brakes so hard that it slammed me in my seat. No cars were in front or behind me. So there were no accidents that occurred from this incident. But it certainly did scare me.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
I was driving on the interstate on adaptive cruise control when suddenly my cruise control turned off, and then various sensor lights all started popping up on my dash notifying my that various safety systems were not on/working, including all honda sensing features, I also lost my power steering. I managed to pull off onto an exit ramp, kept the car running, and was able to get it to town to have battery tested. Battery was fine. Turned the car off and turned it back on and there were 0 issues and everything worked just fine. Took car to Honda dealership, it was diagnosed that the EPS unit malfunctioned. I was terrified when this happened as I was traveling 70 miles per hour on the interstate and didn't know what was happening, I was unsure what was happening and if I was going to be able to control the vehicle at all even through the gas pedal, or brakes. I was terrified I wouldn't be able to steer or brake or if the car was going to accelerate without my control. I was able to brake slowly and pull over to an exit ramp. Driving it into town with no power steering was extremely difficult and scary. I had never experienced any issued with any electrical, steering, or any other systems in my car prior to this. Honda of Altoona in Iowa is where the car was diagnosed the EPS malfunction, I was told by the dealership it was a manufacturer error and there wasn't anything I did to trigger it. I had the EPS unit replaced based off the dealership recommendation as there was no promising it wouldn't happen again if I didn't replace the unit and it was a safety concern.

I managed to pull off onto an exit ramp, kept the car running, and was able to get it to town to have battery tested. Battery was fine. Turned the car off and turned it back on and there were 0 issues and everything worked just fine. Took car to Honda dealership, it was diagnosed that the EPS unit malfunctioned. I was terrified when this happened as I was traveling 70 miles per hour on the interstate and didn't know what was happening, I was unsure what was happening and if I was going to be able to control the vehicle at all even through the gas pedal, or brakes. I was terrified I wouldn't be able to steer or brake or if the car was going to accelerate without my control. I was able to brake slowly and pull over to an exit ramp. Driving it into town with no power steering was extremely difficult and scary. I had never experienced any issued with any electrical, steering, or any other systems in my car prior to this. Honda of Altoona in Iowa is where the car was diagnosed the EPS malfunction, I was told by the dealership it was a manufacturer error and there wasn't anything I did to trigger it. I had the EPS unit replaced based off the dealership recommendation as there was no promising it wouldn't happen again if I didn't replace the unit and it was a safety concern.

All of a sudden I was driving and every light on the dash lit up the car starting stalling and shut off We replaced the spark plugs and the coils because they told us that was the problem and it's still doing the same thing quite a few people that are having this issue got a recall letter.. I never received a recall for this problem And every time I put my VIN number in it's saying zero recalls something is wrong this is not safe for me and my children
