THE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS FAILED AFTER THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY WAS FLICKERING AND HOT, THIS ISSUE STARTED IN THE PASSENGER SIDE AND NOW BOTH DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS ARE OUT. I CONTACTED HONDA ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE A CURRENT RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE AND TO CONTACT THE DEALER. THE DEALER WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. I BOUGHT THIS CAR BECAUSE THE DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHT SAFETY FEATURE. I DID A RESEARCH OF THIS PROBLEM AND IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN THIS VEHICLE. I AM CONCERN THAT THIS ELECTRICAL PROBLEM CAN CAUSE A FIRE.

LOOKING UP DIFFERENT ACCORD FORUMS, THE 2016 MODEL SEEMS TO HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE DRL LED STRIPS. IT ACCELERATED SO HIGH I WAS SCARED TO DEATH...AND I IMMEDIATELY TURNED OFF.. WAITED FEW MINTUTES AND STARTED AGAIN AND DO NO HAVE THE PROBLEM ANYMORE.. CALLED HONDA 888-234-2138 ON APR 21 2018 AND THEY SAID TO MAKE APPOINTMENT WITH DEALER.. MADE APPOINTMENT WITH DEALER FOR APR 24 2018 AT 8:00 AM AT VIP HONDA IN NORTH PLAINFIELD NJ.. THEY SAID THEY WILL CHARGE ME $125.00 DIAGNOSTIC FEE FOR IT IF THEY DO NOT FIND ANY PROBLEM WITH IT.. I TOLD THEM I HAVE ABOUT 19K MILES AND IT SHOULD BE COVERED.. Potential Consequences:
PURCHASED HONDA ACCORD IN 2017 FOR TRIPS & HIGHWAY DRIVING. AT 34K MILES THE DRIVERS SIDE DRL RUNNING LIGHTS STARTED TO FADE AND THEN WENT COMPLETELY OUT. TOOK BACK TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR AND BECAUSE THE CAR NOW HAD 39K MILES WILL NOT FIX. THE PART THE PART #33150-TAA81 IS OVER $800 PURCHASE SINCE THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY HAS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS THE TOURING MODEL WHICH WAS A PREMIUM OPTION WITH THESE LIGHTS. THIS WASN`T AN ISSUE UNTIL THE PAST MONTHS WE HAVE BEEN ISSUED WARNINGS BY STATE PATROL OF NEBRASKA AND COLORADO THAT THE DRIVING LIGHTS WERE OUT!? I NEVER KNEW THIS WAS A VALID SAFETY VIOLATION FOR A RUNNING CAR?
