FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

Potential Consequences:

Braking Issue and ADAS Warning + Lack of Access Concerns I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the ongoing issues that are being seen with the NHTSA recall campaign numbers 24V865000 and 24V623000. Specifically, the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) in my vehicle, which has become increasingly distracting and, frankly, dangerous due to an incomplete or failed 2.2 Over-The-Air (OTA) update is a huge concern. As a responsible driver, I value the safety of not only myself but also those around me, and this situation and others we constantly hear about make me question the process of the recall. Every week, a number of vehicles are reported as undrivable post-OTA updates, with statistics indicating that approximately 2%-5% of owners experience this issue. With 48-hour update windows, my vehicle becomes unusable for an extended period, which is highly inconvenient and concerning. Moreover, I've noted that partial updates are expected, potentially extending this downtime by another 48 hours. I have had a partial update that has left my vehicle in worse shape than before, what could happen if the process is tried again? This inconsistent performance is not only frustrating, but also poses a serious inconvenience to scheduling and executing such a process. Owner surveys suggest that comprehensive updates, which should resolve these issues, have been successfully completed in under 30% of vehicles which were attempted. Additionally, the alarming figures shared indicate that only around 10% of the fleet has been updated in over five weeks, despite submitting over 800 Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs). This inefficiency raises serious questions about the reliability of the process. Furthermore, the fact that there are only approximately 20 service personnel available nationwide, with a mere five traveling to assist customers whose cars are rendered undrivable, is simply unacceptable. This lack of support exacerbates an already troubling situation.

SERVICE BRAKES

Potential Consequences:

Pedestrian Warning Sounds Gone I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the ongoing issues that are being seen with the NHTSA recall campaign numbers 24V865000 and 24V623000. Following an attempted OTA software update for the safety recall, I have noticed that the pedestrian alert noises are missing, which poses a significant safety risk not only for those around the car but also for the occupants inside the vehicle. This situation is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the vehicle’s safety features. Moreover, it has come to my attention that a concerning number of owners have reported their vehicles as undrivable following OTA updates, with 2%-5% of vehicles experiencing such issues weekly. The current 48-hour update window renders my car unusable, and now I require another session, an additional 48 hours to complete the update only adds to my frustration. Based on owner surveys, it appears that complete updates, including the correct sounds, have been successfully implemented in less than 30% of vehicles attempted. Given these concerns, I urge you to look into the situation with my vehicle and the entire process. I should not have to pay out of pocket for the safety recall and restored function of pedestrian alert noises, nor the cost of a rental car. Thank you for your attention to this critical matter.

Potential Consequences:

I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the ongoing issues that are being seen with the NHTSA recall campaign numbers 24V865000 and 24V623000. Multiple attempts of this safety recall have been scheduled over the past several weeks for my vehicle, but the update has yet to be completed. As an owner who values safety and reliability, I am increasingly concerned about the unresolved safety issues that were supposed to be addressed with this software update. Yesterday I was able to address the water pump recall however the list service cost $340 opposed to the listed $175. This is a mandatory recall and I had no choice but to pay for the replacement of the water pump. Please help. This vehicle has become an incredibly unsafe and a financial burden. Mandatory recall service should be free to the vehicle owner. I feel American Leasing is fleecing vehicle owners. They were given the responsibility to Shepard the recall process and they are failing to do their job by paying full reimbursement $340. Thank you for watching out for us.

Additional Notes:

I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the ongoing issues that are being seen with the NHTSA recall campaign numbers 24V865000 and 24V623000. Multiple attempts of this safety recall have been scheduled over the past several weeks for my vehicle, but the update has yet to be completed. SERVICE BRAKES

Potential Consequences:

I received a letter from Fisker in Sep 2024 about NHTSA Campaign number 24V623 which was about braking Improvement Software update. It's now Feb 2025 and nothing has been received over the air. For the past several months there's a weird clicking feeling when applying the brake pedal and I assume that's what this Over the Air update was to address. The closest service place that can force an update is 60 miles from me. They charge $450 to this update and it's not a full update, so I don't even know if the brakes would be "fixed" by paying this amount. The above is my largest concern, but there are still the following recalls I can't get addressed: 24V499000 (Water pump) 24V466000 (Door Handles) 24V405000 (Warning Lights OTA-2.1) I live in Los Angeles and no one can fix these for me (not even the above service center that can do the software update due to lack of parts). The door handles feel like a miracle every time they open and the warning lights in the car go off CONSTANTLY while driving and there is no way to turn them off. They are a major distraction while dirivng both visually and audibly. This has been going on since I received the letter in September of 2024

SERVICE BRAKES

Potential Consequences:

On [XXX], I was exiting the freeway and went over a slight bump in the exit lane. I went to engage the brakes, and my car lunged forward (24V865000). Shortly after turning left from the freeway exit, my car began to stall and shut down - displaying an issue with the main battery. My car kept stalling and shutting off and had to be towed (24V404000). I had a mobile tech come out to try and repair the car. He replaced the 12v battery and ensured the PDU / front of the car was functional and working properly. He determined that there may be an issue with the High Voltage Battery and recommended it be taken to a repair shop. He also confirmed that even though my car said it was on 2.2 Software, it was not even partially installed. I called the approved service center in Newport, CA and they informed me they would not be able to work on my car. So, I had to tow my car to Riverside, CA as it's the only other repair shop in Southern California. This incident occurred after I replaced my water pump (24V499000) in Riverside and had to pay $150 out of pocket. My car has been in the shop for at least 2 weeks and I was told it may not be repairable. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

SERVICE BRAKES

Potential Consequences:

24V405000 - Constant alerts are very distracting while driving, causing me to have to verify if the warnings can be ignored or if it is a major issue. This does not pertain to just one alert, but the automatic emergency braking warning, blind spot warning, lane departure warning, lane keeping assistance warning all send notifications that they are not working at various times. Also, my version is at 2.2 part (2/3). It's not fully updated and I'm not certain if the fixes were implemented correctly. On 10/26/24 I went to see a mechanic, Roush Restorations LLC, who serviced my water pump recall. It cost approximately $230.

SERVICE BRAKES

Potential Consequences:

The regen brake male function with any bump in the road making the control of the car more difficult especially when the regen has been engaged before hitting the bump in the road as the vehicle accelerates and now I have to slam on the brake to avoid getting close to the car in the front of me or and avoid rear-ending it. The ADAS malfunctions randomly and more often when any rain, fog, and or strong light is facing the vehicle. The emergency collision braking stops working, along with several other safety systems such as forward collision, blind spot, and lane-keeping assistance. When I was driving and had been relying on the blindspot monitoring and notification and wanted to change my lane there were no notifications, because the blind spot monitoring had stopped working, and I encountered another vehicle in the lane that I was trying to merge; it became very dangerous and now I had to take evasive action to avoid a collision. The driver's door with NFC does not work anymore. I received the following recall letters a while back. 24V865000 (Regen Braking OTA-2.2) 24V499000 (Water pump) 24V466000 (Door Handles) 24V405000 (Warning Lights OTA-2.1) 24V404000 (MCU/VCU Loss of Power OTA-2.1) My understanding is that some of these were supposed to be addressed through the OTA software upgrade OTA-2.1 and OTA-2.2 but as of this submittal I am still on 2.0 and have not received any OTA update. These problems are ongoing and thus there is no specific date that I can pick in the next section so I will just pick a random date.
