2014-2015 Cadillac CTS-V Differential Lock Up

General Motors has decided that certain 2014-2015 Cadillac CTS-V Sport sedans equipped with 3.6L twin turbo V6 engines have a defect that may affect vehicle safety.

According to the defect report, over time under aggressive driving conditions, certain roll pins in the rear axle differential could fatigue. If the pins fracture, the differential will lock up. If the condition occurs while driving, the vehicle will be difficult for the driver to control.

Owners receiving notices will be asked to return to their dealers to have the rear axle differential replace. The roll pins in the replacement rear differentials will have increased strength and a double shear design, making it less susceptible to fatigue and fracture. GM's number for this recall is N192279370 and the NHTSA campaign number is 20V-038.
