(Tesla) is recalling certain 2016-2023 Model S, Model X, 2017-2023 Model 3, and 2020-2023 Model Y vehicles equipped with Full Self-Driving Beta (FSD Beta) software or pending installation. The FSD Beta system may allow the vehicle to act unsafe around intersections, such as traveling straight through an intersection while in a turn-only lane, entering a stop sign-controlled intersection without coming to a complete stop, or proceeding into an intersection during a steady yellow traffic signal without due caution. In addition, the system may respond insufficiently to changes in posted speed limits or not adequately account for the driver's adjustment of the vehicle's speed to exceed posted speed limits.

WE WERE DRIVING TESLA S NORTHBOUND ON HIGHWAY 101 GOING FROM NOVATO TO PETALUMA, WE WERE ON AUTO STEERING WHEN THE DRIVER (MY SON) SAW THE CAR MERGING STRAIT ON US, HE TRIED TO AVOID THE ACCIDENT AND SWUNG TO THE LEFT, BUT BECAUSE IT WAS ON AUTO STEERING THE STEERING WHEEL WAS BLOCKED/STIFF AND AT FIRST HE WAS NOT ABLE TO MOVE IT. IT TOOK HIM COUPLE OF SECONDS TO REALIZE IT. ON THE SCREEN IN THE VEHICLE A WARNING WAS DISPLAYED "AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING DISABLED.." I PULLED INTO A BUSINESS PARK PARKING LOT AND IN ORDER TO STOP THERE WAS A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF BRAKE PRESSURE REQUIRED TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. THE CAR WAS PARKED AND SUBSEQUENTLY TOWED TO MY HOME. ABOUT 5 DAYS LATER THE TESLA SERVICE CENTER IN RENO TOWED THE CAR FOR SERVICE. WE ARE AWAITING THE RESULTS.

THE FRONT RH STEERING KNUCKLE HAS SNAPPED IN HALF. THE SUSPENSION HAS COLLAPSED.
