POWER TRAIN
Potential Consequences:
While driving the truck seems to jolt when trying to get into the next gear or it seems to be slipping a gear. At times the truck will stay in a gear too long and not switch over in a timely manner or it it will switch gears too quickly. The dealership and another quote says it seems it could be the transmission valve plate and solenoid all the way up to a new transmission is needed. The truck has only 53,000 miles and maintained routine oil Changes and maintenance. I would like to see if there is a recall or one needed because I have never owned vehicle that needed a transmission at 53,000. That’s insane.

Defect Description:
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
The trailer connector behind the bumper developed corrosion on the connector pins. This vehicle has always been in Arizona. No rain snow to make this occur. While pulling my 30 ft trailer home from the mountains the trailer brakes suddenly disconnected due to the pin corrosion. Had this connector been sealed like the ones in the engine compartment, the pins would not corrode. Driving steep mountain grades pulling a 30 ft trailer now became a major safety issue. Fortunately there was no incident arising from this. The solution is simple.... seal the connector. I have read about other individuals that have the same failure.

Defect Description:
TIRES:VALVE
Potential Consequences:
Hi I have been driving for over 42 years & never had a tire valve fail on me. This past winter we drove cross country, form Pennsylvania to Arizona, pulling a 26' trailer. I am meticulous about monitoring my tire air pressure. We were heading back home in April & my TPMS system set off an alert that my driver's side rear tire was losing air. We pulled over & I changed out to our spare. I went to inflate the tire & discovered the leak was at the valve. The rubber had delaminated from the threaded tube. I had tire replaced just north of Nashville Tennessee. When we got home, I went to perform a tire rotation & discovered that the new tire(carried as a spare) had a bad valve. Firestone replaced that valve. 2 weeks ago, on my way home from a doctor's appointment, I had another valve fail. Again Firestone replaced it. My concern is 3 valves failing in 3 months time. Tires were purchased new 6/2024, valves were allegedly changed. 3 valves failures in 3 months from different Firestone locations separated by 1000 miles. I am looking to get a new set of tires before we go away again. I am leery of using Firestone, because of defective tire valves. Can you please look into this matter, and let me know the outcome ?

Defect Description:
SERVICE BRAKES
Potential Consequences:
In December 2024, I received recall notice C4B for my 2018 RAM 2500 truck. The notice concerned the brake hydraulic unit, which is susceptible to failure. At almost exactly the same time, I started to receive dashboard indicators to check the ABS, but it worked fine, I just assumed that the alert was related to the recall. The recall stated that parts were not available and that I would be contacted when there was a resolution. The notice did not indicate that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. Around [XXX], the brakes began making a grinding sound from both sides of the front wheels. I checked the pads, which seemed fine, and there was no scoring on either front rotor. Coincidentally, I got a flat on the left front tire the day after the grinding noise started. It was in the driveway and I was unable to put on the spare until July 12, 2025, the vehicle sat in the driveway with a flat tire until then. After swapping in the spare on the 12th, I planned to get the tire repaired at my local garage. I began pulling out of my driveway at a few miles per hour. I applied the brakes to maintain a slow speed, and the grinding worsened. As I reached the end of my 30 foot driveway and pulled into the street, I heard a clunk, which I also felt through the brake pedal. The pedal immediately went to the floor, and the vehicle rolled across the street before finally stopping. I was able to back into the driveway and park the vehicle without incident. I contacted my local RAM dealer, and they said there was nothing they could do. They gave me the number for Fiat Chrysler Customer Care. I called Fiat Chrysler Customer Care at 800-853-1403 and received case number[XXX]. They explained that a resolution was not yet available and advised me to call a dealer and ask for a "temporary fix". When I told them the dealer had already said they couldn’t do anything, and that the dealer told me to call them, they suggested that I try a different dealer.
