experienced the exact same failure mode as Ram Recall 24V-729 and my truck and model year fall into the affected vehicle models however my VIN # was not included in the recall. Defect Description:
STEERING
Potential Consequences:
Steering column control module went out. Right blinker will not stop and left doesn't work at all. Even in the off position right stays on so I have to put it down to the not working left to stop that but any movement and its starts again. It is a traffic hazard and even though 165,000 Rams were recalled this past year they say its VIN specific and will not cover my $400 repair. My truck is unusable until they repair this.

Potential Consequences:
Driving down the freeway, with no previous issues at 80MPH. Next thing the truck stalls and won't restart. Vehicle jumped and runs when connected stops immediately once unjumped. Replaced battery at 51,000 miles and vehicle runs fine. Concern is the alternator is not strong enough to power the vehicle if the battery dies for mysterious reasons.

AIR BAGS
Potential Consequences:
The truck has been to the dealer on multiple occasions because I continue to receive airbag system alerts. When the alert comes on a warning displays on the console that the airbag system has malfunctioned. The dealer states the clock spring needs to be replaced. I’ve been waiting since November 22, 2024 for the part. It is now June 27, 2025 and still don’t have the part. I experience the alert on my console at least 3-5 times a week.

Potential Consequences:
The turn signal does not reset. Which there is a recall for already. I have complained about this issue before the recall to Ram and now there is a recall. But on may 8, 2025 the dealership stated they could not recreate the issue so they closed the recall. Now on June 17, 2025, I brought my car in for a windshield wiper fluid issue and they asked me is there anything else they should check out. I chuckled and said yea, but ram won't fix it. I told them about the turn signal they said they would check it out. This dealership was able to recreate the issue but since the 1st dealership closed the recall out and marker "complete" i now have to pay for the the fix and try to submit a claim through mopar/stellantis.

Defect Description:
FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
Potential Consequences:
The Connected Services system in my 2023 Ram TRX regularly displays large, full-screen alerts for emergency vehicles, tow trucks, and lane closures — often when there is no actual hazard present. These alerts are extremely distracting and dangerous. They: Block the entire screen, hiding navigation, camera, and HVAC controls and leaving the screen black until the user interacts with it multiple times to put it back on navigation. Require multiple presses to clear, forcing interaction while driving. Often reactivate within seconds, creating a loop of screen interference. Have triggered during merging, construction zones, heavy traffic, and when passing emergency vehicles or tow trucks, where focus is critical and lives are at risk. Occur falsely 80%+ of the time — no hazard is nearby. Cannot be disabled, according to Stellantis. These alerts violate basic safety interface principles by forcing unnecessary, repeated interaction in active driving conditions, forcing distracted driving. The system is overly aggressive, not user-configurable, and poses a significant distraction risk. Numerous owners on Ram forums have reported similar experiences, including repeated false triggers in the same areas. I am requesting NHTSA investigate this system. Stellantis should be required to: Offer a toggle to disable or limit alert pop-ups. Redesign the alerts to be non-obstructive and passive, or limit them to actual verified hazards. Until addressed, this is a serious safety issue affecting many drivers. I have video evidence of the issue occurring that I can provide.

Defect Description:
ENGINE
Potential Consequences:
I have replaced, via warranty, 3 cylinders that have failed within 10,000 miles of the vehicle. This causes my truck to shutter and not accelerate properly. The shop tells me this has been an ongoing problem, however it is not being addressed by Stalantis. Not requesting to do anything for my situation, however it needs to be investigated.

Defect Description:
SERVICE BRAKES
Potential Consequences:
On 3 separate occasions the truck has completely broken down while traveling 60-84mph. Each time, while in motion, the check engine and battery lights come on on the gauge cluster. Voltage starts rapidly draining from the battery indicator before systems start being shut down. Fiirst is entertainment, then climate, the ABS, then steering, and then all power and engine loss. I almost lost control the first time while trying to make it safely over to the soft shoulder. Each of the three times this had happened, the truck was completely dead in the side of the road and was towed to a dealership three times. The truck was towed to 2 different dealerships. The first two times to Imperial Dodge where they charged the battery the first time and did a software update the second time. Most recently the truck had been at DCH Temecula, for two weeks, where nothing has been done due to them not being able to recreate this issue. They recommended that I take video, while driving, as the issue happens live. This is a major safety issue in general but unacceptable that the manufacturer and dealerships only solution is for me to put myself and my family in jeopardy, and break California law, to diagnosis this massive unsafe vehicle.
