SEAT BELTS
Potential Consequences:
While driving my 2020 Ram Rebel, the driver side seat belt locked up and will no longer retract. I took the vehicle into the Larry H. Miller Chrysler dodge dealership and they attempted to fix it but they were not successful. My truck only has 58,809 miles on it and they stated that it was no longer under warranty and that I would have to pay to replace it (roughly $750). Prior to the seatbelt locking, there were no indications that something was wrong. I believe not having a seatbelt that works properly puts myself or anyone else that would drive my vehicle at great risk if there was an accident.
Corrective Action:

They quoted me for a gear rack saying it’s some kind of defect and the whole thing would need replaced (2,000$ +). I’ve looked through forums and countless drivers have reported the same issue. I’ve had this truck for just over 100,000 miles, with regular maintenance to every aspect of it. I don’t feel we should be responsible for a fault of the manufacturer. Please help!
