Potential Consequences:

The direction signals will only work when taking a right turn. The signal stalk will not return to the neutral position and the signal will not shut off after making a right turn. In order to shut off the right signal, I must pull the signal stalk to the left turn position. However, the left turn signal will not operate. Further when making a right turn the signal will begin operating even though I have not engaged the turn signal. The truck is only 38 months old, with only 18,600 miles on it. The turn signal is a lifetime part and should last decades and hundreds of thousands of miles. It is dangerous to operate the vehicle in traffic especially at night as I cannot signal a left turn. I took it to the dealer, but the service agent wanted me to pay $145 just to diagnose the problem and then parts and labor. The vehicle is just beyond the 36-month warranty, but at only 18,600 miles, the dealer should repair this as it is a safety issue.

Potential Consequences:

on January 1/23/2022 my vehicle was traveling at a speed of approx. 35mph in wintery conditions. A vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and slide into the road way, and my vehicles front end collided with the side of their vehicle. All of the other vehicles air bags, front and sides, deployed. None of my airbags deployed at all. The vehicle had significant damage and was a total loss. The highway patrol, tow truck driver, the EMS, the Insurance adjuster, and the body shop all said "I can't believe your airbags didn't deploy". My VIN number does indicate a recall related to airbags, but indicates it was fixed. I feel there was definitely an issue that prevented them from deploying. The people commenting are experts as they respond to accidents of this nature as a career, so I feel their opinion warrants an investigation in this matter.

When that doesnt happen the truck will just drop into nuetral and the cluster will display " please shift to park then select desired gear". Its not just annoying but a safety issue since ive almost been rear ended twice and almost t-boned while my wife and 8 year old daughter were in the car with me. I cant moved till i stop the vehicle to put it in park and then back in drive everytime it does it. Its been happening ever since 25k miles and im at 52k miles. Ive take. It to the dealer twice and they daid they couldnt replicate the problem so they couldnt do anything. Then no dealer near me does courtesy vehicles except one 50 minute away from me but they only have two courtesy trucks and they are always out and have no idea when they will get them back and i work out of my truck so i need a truck so i can never schedule an appointment to take my truck in for anything including this issue. I just want my brand new truck to work that im paying $600 month for. I dont wanna trade it in and get stuck on a new loan and more money out of my pocket. This is the most aggravating experiance of my life and no way to reconcile the issue in site. Please help.

Corrective Action:

When I come to a sudden or slow stop either coming to a stop sign or going around a corner or traffic jam on the highway, my truck will sometimes surge and accelerate suddnly before coming to a complete stop. When that doesnt happen the truck will just drop into nuetral and the cluster will display " please shift to park then select desired gear". Its not just annoying but a safety issue since ive almost been rear ended twice and almost t-boned while my wife and 8 year old daughter were in the car with me. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Potential Consequences:

Not sure if these are both related, went to get in car and was locked out, towed to dealership where they replaced the BCN, went to pick up and vehicle was dead, had to have it towed back into the garage at the dealership where they replaced the battery almost $1,000. Still did not fix the issue and they said it could be the instrument cluster. The problem started on a trip when we smelled smoke, the instrument cluster kept going in and out until it finally quit which did not allow me to see any vital information, the RAM emblem continues to blink gray and black which causes me to take my eyes off the road. This is a safety hazard, I can't read anything and do not know the gas remaining, the mileage on the truck, and a lot of other data. I have been told not only did I waste the money fixing something that was not wrong that now there is a tech service bulletin on this issue and noone has reached out to the RAM owners because only one person has reported it. I would not have known to report the issue had I not read on the internet. This is a concerning issue, the smoke smell scared me and I had to park my truck, it continued spontaneously throughout the trip until it finally stopped. I didn't realize how much information you can lose with an instrument panel. How many miles to get the oil changed, etc.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Potential Consequences:

Just left my house. Came up to the second stop light, about 4 blocks away from my house , slowed down to stop for the red light when the truck just shuts off. The lights came on in the information center and stated to put the truck in park and restart the truck. There was a red lightning bolt displayed in the info center as well. This is about the 5th time the truck has done this, just stalling and shutting off for no reason. Seems to only do this within 5 minutes of starting the truck after it has been parked for hours.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Potential Consequences:

1) The Fuel Pump broke on our 2019 Ram Big Horn. It only has around 40,000 miles on it. We had it towed to the dealership. They are going to replace the fuel pump mid to end of February due to part shortage. My wife was on the entry roadway to I95 when without warning the truck puttered and died on the entrance ramp. There was no warning lights, messages etc. Luckily she puttered to the side out of the way of speeding cars getting on I95. According to the dealership they have no idea how the fuel pump died. The dealership is the only party that inspected the vehicle. 2) The second problem we are having with the Ram, is the dashboard lights flicker on off for no particular reason. It just happens when it feels like it. We brought it to the dealership and of course it didn’t happen to them so they have no idea why the dashboard lights are going on and off. The rear defroster isn’t working. The battery died as well. We feel there is some type of electrical problem with the truck. We do not believe a vehicle with only 40,000 miles would have the fuel pump die. I know other Ram trims (2500, 3500 etc)have had recalls due to fuel pumps dying and dashboard lights going on and off for no reason. I think this is a problem that needs attention! My wife could have been killed on the ramp to I95

SEAT BELTS

Potential Consequences:

I was dropping my child off at school. She said the seat belt was stuck. So her brother went to help her . Then she started screaming the seat beat was stuck around her waist . She could not breath. I parked the truck and ran around to help her. The seat belt was locked up I could not get it to release. The school principal saw the commotion and asked if she could help . I told her to grab a knife or scissors we need to cut the seat belt off. She ran and grabbed scissors and I cut the seat belt. She could have died if I was not at the right place at the right to me.
