POWER TRAIN

Potential Consequences:

While the vehicle is in both Drive and reverse, the car randomly will shift itself into either neutral or park without warning. The first event occurred while in reverse and actively moving, the car shifted into neutral on its own. No warning lights or messages appeared. The following 2 incidents, while driving on city streets, at a stop sign in one instance and at a stop light in the other, the car shifted into park within seconds of the vehicle coming to a stop. Also, no warning lights or messages occurred. I have contacted my local Porsche dealer to see if there was any service bulletins or a know fix, and was informed that by the service advisor, that she believes this is normal operation because she has heard of it happening. This situation has been dangerous each time it has happened, as I was in traffic, and unaware that my vehicle no longer in gear until I tried to accelerate, and my car was unresponsive. I can’t imagine how your vehicle not being in the gear you put it in, is not a safety concern. I also fear that the vehicle may go into park while at highway speeds, and be catastrophic.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:PROPULSION SYSTEM:CHARGING:CABLE/CORD:ACCESSORY

Potential Consequences:

While charging was in progress using Porsche's app at a charging station of Electrify America, the charging process suddenly stopped, when I switched from the app to an email app. And since the charging station displayed "Please unplug", I was unplugging a charging cable from a Taycan's charging port, then there was an explosion at the port with an ear-splitting bang and a large spark. The car dashboard then displayed "Electrical system error" and was totally unmovable, so it was towed to a dealer on 6/18/2022. The dealer contacted the manufacturer, but the car is still not repaired even though 40+ days have passed, which is unreasonable. I found the below article and suspect whether it's related with the "inexpensive onboard charger": - An excerpt from: https://www.teslarati.com/porsche-whistleblower-taycan-battery-charger-fires-coverup/ "Porsche uses an inexpensive onboard charger that does not control the process well, the whistleblower explained to me in detail. Fires have occurred in the Taycan battery, the source explained, due to the problem described."

SERVICE BRAKES

Potential Consequences:

There was a different amount of pressure needed to apply to the break when at lower speeds vs higher speeds. At lower speeds there was less responsiveness to the breaks and more pressure was required to stop the car. We brought the car to the dealer and dealer reported the car was fine. The problem persisted and an error message came on that said "break fluid low- bring to dealer". The car was brought into dealer again and the dealer flushed the break system and put new fluid in. The problem continued to persist and the dealer replaced the break booster fixing this issue. Our safety was at risk because the breaks were malfunctioning.

STEERING

Potential Consequences:

When the car was in Drive (D) mode but stationary at a red light, it abruptly went in to park (P) without any user intervention. Had to reengage the drive mode to move forward. Problem has occurred at least twice before (months apart) without any reproducibility. I did bring it to the dealer once but they did not find any abnormal logs. Latest occurrence on 7/6/2022 at approximately 6:15 PM Lost power steering assist completely in my driveway while backing out of the garage in reverse mode. No warning signs on the cluster. Could not turn the car. Only way to get power steering assist back was to turn off the car completely, wait for 10 seconds and turn it back on again. Incident happened on 7/7/2022 at 7:45 AM

POWER TRAIN

Potential Consequences:

Car would go in to P or N during slow moving situations. Could of been rear ended or stuck in the middle of a intersection. Many Taycan owners have had the same issue. First time I was in stop and go traffic, as I let off the brake the car went into N. Second time after a few lights, car was in hold. Noticed the car did not go when light turned green when giving power. It was at P.
