NHTSA Campaign: 25V337000 SAFETY RECALL
30.7K Vehicles Affected
Recall Date: May 23, 2025
Safety Issue:

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2024 Nautilus vehicles. The multimedia module software may cause the panoramic and center displays to reboot, resulting in a blank screen. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 111, "Rear Visibility," and 102, "Transmission shift lever sequence, starter interlock, and transmission braking effect," as well as FMVSS numbers 126, 108, 135, 138, 208, 101, and 305.

Potential Risk:
A blank instrument display can result in a loss of critical safety information, such as the speedometer and warning lights, increasing the risk of a crash. In addition, a missing rearview camera display image can reduce visibility of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
FREE Recall Solution:
The multimedia module system software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 24, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25C21.

6.8K Vehicles Affected
Recall Date: May 23, 2025
Safety Issue:

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Lincoln Nautilus, 2023-2025 Escape, 2023 Lincoln Corsair, 2025 Lincoln Corsair, Maverick, and Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with a 1.5L or 2.0L MPC engine and an engine block heater. The engine block heater may overheat when the vehicle is parked with the block heater plugged in.

Potential Risk:
An overheated engine block heater can increase the risk of a fire.
FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will replace the block heater element and inspect the electrical cord, replacing it if necessary, free of charge. Owners will also have a alternative option to replace engine block heater element with a threaded blanking plug coupled, and remove the block heater electrical cord. VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

Potential Consequences:

Lincoln Navigation has incorrect speed limit detection/programming on rural roads in Fulton County Ohio. When using the Adaptive Cruise, firstly the Speed Limit icon that is stationary on the dash, right in front of the driver, has incorrect speed limits. The speed limits icon also randomly goes from the incorrect speed of 45mpg, suddenly for no environmental reason, drops to 25 mph, then after a distance, goes back up to 45 mpg. The speed limits on all rural roads, other than municipalities, is 55 mph. While using the Adaptive Cruise, if someone is behind me, doing 55 mph that I've set my cruise to, and SUDDENLY I drop my speed to 25 or even 45 mph, there could most likely be a rear end collision. I have been in contact with Lincoln dealerships, Lincoln Concierge, Lincoln Way, Lincoln Over the Air... I just get passed around from department to department, having me reset my screens, but no knows how to fix. I've spent numerous hours on the phone. No one calls me back like they say they will. I've repeated this issue so many times to so many different people and departments, it's been extremely frustrating. If they could get me to someone that programs the navigation that Lincoln follows to re-programs those incorrect roads, all would be fixed. I believe Lincoln has it's own system because Google Maps and Waze are displaying the correct speeds at the exact locations.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

Potential Consequences:

There is a safety concern with this car involving the feature that automatically slows down the car when a curve in the road is detected. This problem with the curve detection feature happens when the dynamic cruise control is engaged, with or without BlueCruise being active. At certain locations on the freeway, the car will aburptly brake, slowing the car by approximately 10 mph. When the abrupt slowdown occurs, the driver's display shows the icon for curve detection when there is no curve in the road. An abrupt reduction of speed on the freeway for no valid reason is a safety problem. This is not a random occurence. It happens every time I drive on I-80 eastbound at location: 41.545369, -93.963420. There is no curve at this location in the road that necessitates any slowing of the car, let alone an abrupt reduction in speed. The dealership found no issues that they could correct and no software updates available.

STEERING

Potential Consequences:

There is a safety issue involving inaccurate detection of the driver's hands on the steering wheel. The vehicle frequently provides a warning on the driver's information display that I need to place my hands on the steering wheel despite both hands being firmly on the steering wheel already. Sometimes, I can get the car to recognize that my hands are on the steering wheel by firmly squeezing the wheel in the same or a different position. If the dynamic cruise control is engaged at the time, and I cannot get the car to recognize my hands are on the wheel, the car will eventually disengage the dynamic cruise control, slow the car, and demand that I take manual control, which involves tapping the brakes. This slowing down of the car and tapping the brakes must occur on the open road while driving which is a hazard if vehicle are following too closely behind me.

Corrective Action:

There is a safety issue involving inaccurate detection of the driver's hands on the steering wheel. The vehicle frequently provides a warning on the driver's information display that I need to place my hands on the steering wheel despite both hands being firmly on the steering wheel already. Sometimes, I can get the car to recognize that my hands are on the steering wheel by firmly squeezing the wheel in the same or a different position. FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

Potential Consequences:

Lincoln system failure - My wife and I were coming home from a trip driving on Interstate 20 at 75 MPH with the cruise control and steering assist on. Traffic ahead was slowing quickly. Normally when approaching slower vehicles the cruise control will start slowing my Lincoln long before the set following distance is reached. I usually just let the cruise control slow me down. When I realized the cruise control wasn’t slowing me I applied the brakes and nothing happened. Even the engine kept power on. I steered into the emergency parking lane passing vehicles on my left. My wife hit the neutral button and the ignition button to try to kill the engine. After what seemed like a very long time we started slowing down and stopped after 2 to 3 hundred yards. The car was still in drive mode, the engine was still on and the cruise control was still engaged. Why we finally stopped I don’t know. Being extremely busy pressing the break pedal and hanging onto the steering wheel there was no way I could have leaned way forward and to left to apply the emergency parking brake. Useless location in an emergency. After continuing on the steering assist wasn’t working properly. It would start steering around a curve then disengage. I wasn’t about to turn on the cruise control to see if it was working. Also earlier in the day every time I turned the car off and back on I’d have to go thru a menu to get the radio to work and re find the station I listen to. Related? Also when the GPS is set on a destination and I turn the car off and back on when stopping at a rest area I have to reset the destination. Related? The mechanic at my local dealer was able to duplicate the problem. He rebooted the system. It happened once. Will it ever happen again? I know that occasionally I have to reboot my computer. It seems similar to me. I doubt I’ll ever use the cruise control again.

Potential Consequences:

The issue is with blue tooth phone calls. There is always excessive static while driving for the other person on the phone to the point were is is extremely difficult if not impossible to have any sort of conversation. Inside the vehicle it sounds clear, its the person on the other end that's having this issue and its consistent . All phone types are having this issue. I purchased this car brand new for my wife 10/24 and to not have a standard feature like blue tooth calling not working is unacceptable . In my opinion not being able to utilize hands free calling is a safety issue. It's been to the service dept. at the dealership twice and they can't fix it.
