Defect Description:
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
At approximately 36,600 miles, my 2023 Jeep Wrangler Sahara began experiencing a critical and recurring electrical malfunction. Upon attempting to start the vehicle: •All dashboard electronics power on, but the engine does not crank or start. •The brake pedal remains fully depressed and will not release. •The vehicle cannot be shut off by the ignition; the only way to power it down is by disconnecting the battery and fuse and waiting ~15 minutes. This issue renders the vehicle completely inoperable and has occurred multiple times. It began just 600 miles after the factory warranty expired (36,000 miles), and two dealership repair attempts have failed to resolve the issue. I’ve reviewed public NHTSA complaints and discovered that similar issues are being reported in 2023 Wranglers, including full power loss and no-start conditions. This issue is consistent with symptoms reported in the NHTSA’s July 2024 investigation into 2023–2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe models for electrical system failures. I believe this is part of a systemic electrical defect and poses a serious safety risk due to its sudden onset and inability to shut the vehicle down normally.

NHTSA Complaint Summary: 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Recall 24V-720 Overview: A complaint was filed with the NHTSA against FCA US LLC and Opelika Ford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for failing to remedy a safety defect in a 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe under NHTSA Recall 24V-720, as required by the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. The vehicle has been inoperable for 83 days as of July 17, 2025, causing financial hardship and safety concerns. Issue Description: Recall Details: Recall 24V-720 addresses a high-voltage battery pack defect prone to separator damage, risking vehicle fires. FCA is obligated to reprogram the battery control module or replace the battery free of charge. Vehicle Status: Dropped off at the dealership on April 25, 2025, the vehicle remains unrepaired. The repair order is “pre-assigned,” with no technician assigned or parts ordered. Failed Repair Attempt: On May 9, 2025, the dealership claimed repairs were complete, but charging errors emerged immediately, confirming the defect persists. The vehicle is unsafe and unusable, with restrictions against charging or parking near structures. Failures by FCA and Dealership: Dealership Inaction: Limited testing and poor coordination with FCA’s STAR system have stalled repairs. FCA Oversight: Jeep Case Management demanded redundant documentation, despite the recall’s clear mandate. Communication has been sparse despite frequent follow-ups. Unpaid Reimbursements: FCA approved rental reimbursements, five invoices remain unpaid, including one approved on June 18, 2025, promised within 10-15 business days. Requested Resolution: Immediate Repair or Refund: Complete the recall repair or issue a full cash refund of the purchase price, rejecting FCA’s fair market value credit offer. NHTSA Investigation: Investigate FCA and the dealership for non-compliance with the recall mandate.

Potential Consequences:
I've had the Electric Coolant Heater Module (ECH) replaced three times in under three months, and had to pay $853 the last time for a wiring harness connector that the dealership & Jeep said was not covered under the warranty. I couldn't continue to safely drive the vehicle with a Check Engine Light on given the other reported problems with the 4xe Hybrid Battery system so I had no choice but to pay for the part out of pocket, even though the item the connector was attached to was deemed to be covered by the 100,000 miles hybrid system warranty.

I've had the Electric Coolant Heater (ECH) replaced three times in less than three months under the Hybrid Battery Warranty. The third repair included having to pay $853 to replace the ECV connector, which was not picked up by the Hybrid Battery Warranty, and the dealer required buying the entire harness just to get a new connector.

I recently rented this vehicle from Budget. I had the vehicle for 3 weeks before I found out it had a recall on it. I took a look into it and the recall was out there since September of 2024. Not only that it was a major issue. The vehicle could’ve caught fire. This is very alarming to me because I had the vehicle for so long. I rented the vehicle in April of 2025. This vehicle should not have been available to rent. I tried to attach the conversation I had with the locations manager on the day I returned it stating that the vehicle was on the recall list but I reached out to him no one from Budget contacted me. I have supporting documents but I’m not able to attach them. I have my rental contract that states the date and also the email between the manager at the location. While driving my 2023 Jeep Wrangler on a road traveling at approx 15 to 20 mph the “Auto Park “ feature activated and the vehicle came to an abrupt stop in the middle of the road. The D indicator was blinking and in order to proceed I had to place the shift in Park and then back in Drive. The car was flat bedded to the dealer who was unable to fix it. The dealer was unable to assure me this would not happen again. The dealer did disconnect the wiring to the door which gave my wife and I some comfort and peace of mind. One of two things could have caused this to happen;1 a malfunction in the module in the door or 2 a malfunction in the computer. I have a severely degenerated cervical spine; a rear end collision could cause me severe injury. It is absolutely necessary that this function be turned off in my vehicle. I have been patiently awaiting for Jeep Wave and my local dealer to fix this problem. In the meantime, my wife and I have had no window operation nor keyless entry nor mirror operation on the driver’s side. It was only by the Grace of God that no vehicle was following us that day.

SUSPENSION
Potential Consequences:
We have been experiencing a bouncing and shaking in the front end of our vehicle while driving at highway speeds. This happens when hitting the slightest bump or transitions from pavement to concrete. Last week while driving on the highway the shaking and bouncing was so violent that I can't believe I didn't lose control. I brought the vehicle to the dealer and for the second time they replaced more suspension items in the front end. After doing some research I found out that this has been a problem with these vehicles for quite some time and that it's known as the "Death Wobble". After what I experienced I can understand why. I called Jeep and spoke to multiple people in different departments and as they acknowledge the problem they don't seem to care how unsafe the issue is. I can't believe there haven't been any deaths related to this and I'm hoping you might investigate these issues further before that happens.

Potential Consequences:
At highway speeds,60+ the jeep starts an extreme wobbling and shaking when I hit a bump. Sometimes I can slow down and it stops and other times I have to pull Over and come to a complete stop. I just bought this jeep less than two weeks ago and it’s now in service getting a new steering damper. Everything I’m reading online says this is just a Bandaid. My husband knows about Cars and he said this will only absorb the shaking until it wears out and then it will start again. I was told it was their third jeep today with a death wobble. They sold the jeep to me with this issue and now I have to pay a warranty deductible 10 days after purchase to get it fixed. It only has 33,000 miles on it. It’s hard to control the steering at 70 mph when the entire front end starts violently shaking.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
There is a problem with my electrical system. I have brought it in to jeep several times, and they have brushed it off. In July 2024 I was driving and the car shut off in the middle of traffic. I was able to come to a stop in a turning lane, but it was a dangerous, scary situation. When I took it to the dealership, they said they could not replicate it and sent me on my way. In March 2024 I was stranded at night at a dog park when my car wouldn't start. There was a message stating that the electrical system needed to be serviced. I had it towed to the dealership and they said it was just the engine battery and an issue with a sensor that was put in upside down. In October 2024 I received a notice not to charge my battery or park it in or near buildings. There was no fix. Then, they had software update that was supposed to fix internal problems with the batteries. I asked for a new battery without the issues, and they said no. The scariest, and biggest problem I'm having, though, is that intermittently I lose power when trying to accelerate into traffic. This has led to many scary incidents of other drivers nearly hitting me and being very upset. The most recent incident was on Wednesday, February 12. I was driving on highway 12 in the morning on my way to work and a car pulled in front of me. To avoid a collision, I swerved to the left lane and tried to accelerate to get out of the way of the car behind me and my car would not accelerate. I had to take my foot off the gas, then push again to get it to go. It was terrifying and dangerous. The car behind me nearly hit me, and they honked and were very upset. This situation happens probably once or twice a month. I had my car in the shop to address these issues and I had a rental car and Jeep said they would work with the dealer to repair. They never did. Never called me back, and now they are refusing my rental reimbursement. I don't have anymore money to pay for another so I'm stuck

Defect Description:
FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
