SERVICE BRAKES

Potential Consequences:

On several occasions, FCW activated unexpectedly in low risk situations (in driveway, pulling into neighborhood) May 2024 & Nov 2024. While driving 60MHP on a 4 lane highway during rush hour on May 19, FCW activated unexpectedly; immediately taking me down to 20MHP. The “BRAKE” warning and beeping remained with the brakes activated for 30-60 seconds. I was unable to accelerate. Vehicles behind me had to swerve to avoid impact. As I was pulling off the highway immediately following, FCW activated again and I was nearly rear-ended. There were no vehicles in front of me for a least a mile during these incidents. Vehicle has been inspected by 3 separate certified Jeep mechanic. All claim they cannot identify an issue with the vehicle as there are no active codes in the system. The dealer has not been able to reproduce the concern. It appears to happen every couple thousand miles. My safety and my family’s safety and other drivers are at risk if this vehicle remains on the road unfixed. The sudden braking could cause a major accident. Jeep refuses to address the issue. The dealer insists nothing is wrong because the issue is not found.

ENGINE

Potential Consequences:

My jeep is a 2024, with just about 12,000 miles. On Monday, May 5, 2025. My Air Conditioner stopped working. It was only blowing out warm air. Now I’m told there’s some kind of AC leak and it will take 2-5 days for parks and a full day to repair. After reading reviews. This is a known issue with 2022 jeeps. This needs to be an issue with 2024. This is my 3rd jeep and I’ve never had issues like this.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Potential Consequences:

I was traveling on a highway at 65MPH in Hybrid mode. The car displayed a Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System Warning Message along with several other system failure messages in rapid succession. The battery failure icon was also on. The car lost all power and started slowing down. Luckily traffic was light and I was able to reach a point to where I was able to move to a spot on the roadside. I stopped the car and it automatically went into park and would not move out of park. After several tries I was able to start the vehicle in esave mode and it was running on the ICE. All of the errors cleared. I was able to proceed to a side road and eventually make it home. I took it to my local dealer the next day and a read of the code was a B273C indicating digital crash detection. The service manager said this is a known problem and they are waiting for a fix. Reference Star Publication S2408000063 Rev. C In most cases only the Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System Warning Message comes on for a few second and goes away. This has occurred on my vehicle multiple times with no side effects. One other time the car went into Turtle mode, which cleared after a restart. It was in town so was not an issue to pull over. This time the loss of power could have been catastrophic if traffic was heavy while traveling on a busy highway at high speeds.

SUSPENSION

Potential Consequences:

We have an unknown problem with a clunking/creaking noise while driving the vehicle we believe is coming from the front of the vehicle, possibly the suspension or steering. We are not sure we feel safe driving the vehicle since after taking it to the dealer three times in the past year, the dealer acknowledges the clunking but has not been able to identify and fix the issue. We have been told by the dealer it is safe to drive - but if they can't identify and fix the issue - how do they know that to be the case? Without being able to identify the cause of the noise and whatever resulting unusual wear and tear, will we have a catastrophic steering or suspension failure while driving the vehicle? Our 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4Xe Trailhawk, (purchased new) has an "air" suspension - not sure if it's an option or standard on the Trailhawk models. We have had it in to the dealer three times for this issue - this last time the dealer had the truck for 16 plus weeks. The front stabilizer bar has been replaced multiple times, the upper and lower control arms have all been replaced, all four air shocks have been replaced, and a mounting bracket replaced. The dealer told us they opened a Star case with Jeep and the Jeep engineer has been on-site to examine the vehicle. After the engineer requested three different fixes that did not fix the problem, the dealer returned the vehicle and stated they are aware the issue persists and the Jeep engineering group is working on a resolution (even though they no longer have the vehicle in their possession to test solutions). They will notify us when a repair is available.

Additional Notes:

We have an unknown problem with a clunking/creaking noise while driving the vehicle we believe is coming from the front of the vehicle, possibly the suspension or steering. We are not sure we feel safe driving the vehicle since after taking it to the dealer three times in the past year, the dealer acknowledges the clunking but has not been able to identify and fix the issue. We have been told by the dealer it is safe to drive - but if they can't identify and fix the issue - how do they know that to be the case? UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Potential Consequences:

The entire vehicle failed with a No Start Issue. The vehicle will not wake up, can not jump off. My safety is being stranded without a workable vehicle. No the problem has not been resolved after being towed into service to the dealer twice. The STAR engineers got involved this last time but asked the service center to release the vehicle to me because they could not replicate the issue. No warning lamps, messages or other symptoms to indicate a problem with the vehicle/engine/electronic system, the vehicle is just simply dead.
