Defect Description:
FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
Truck has had multiple "service emmision system" errors which can leave the driver stranded and left in traffic as the truck goes into limp mode and won't maintain speed with traffic flow. There are electrical glitches and issues with the circuits and heating elements themselves and in the pump... as soon as there is an error in the system... which has happened 3 times now in 104k miles (~80, 103k and 104k)... the truck is rendered useless and stuck in traffic. Emmisions system needs to be covered for the life of the vehicle if it is going to have non stop issues.

Defect Description:
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
During the first approximately 10 minutes of most drives, the vehicles speaker systems intermittently cuts in and out. This includes the turn signal audio and seatbelt chimes. It does not happen on every drive, I would estimate that about 2 out of 3 drives this issue occurs. All sound will cut out for about a half a second up to 2 seconds. After I begin the drive this issue will go away usually within 10 minutes however sometimes it is quicker than that. I have not taken the vehicle to be looked at due to others stating the dealer has no fix for the issue at this time. The turn signal and seatbelt chime cutting out can create confusion and may cause occupants to forget to buckle their seatbelt. No warning lights or messages have appeared in relation to this issue

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Potential Consequences:
Hi, I was driving on [XXX] and my radio volume went to full volume 100% by itself. The radio would not shut off and none of the controls would work, everything froze. I kept turning the volume button down and the volume bar on the screen showed that it was trying to minimize, but it wouldn't stay. It kept going to full volume. Finally, after I kept pushing the off and mute buttons, the radio shut off and was unresponsive. When I reached my destination and shut the truck off and restarted it, the radio then worked as it normally should. This happened to me yesterday, and I'm still having trouble hearing and my ears hurt. I researched this online and found that there are many other people that had this same scenario with their sierra. I wanted to reach out and report this. Thank you [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

POWER TRAIN
Potential Consequences:
Coolant control valve failure (P1098) after 50k service. When this engine code appears the vehicle goes into reduced power mode. While it does this at inopportune time and creates potential for colission with other vehicles such as when merging with traffic. The coolant control valve is a known issue and GM has just recently recalssified it from their powertrain warranty to their much shorter bumper to bumper or emissions warranty without notifity owners of this change. This move directly puts owners and drivers at risk while on the road. GM should be accountable to resolve this problem as failures are across multiples years and are happening to vehicles at all milages with some less than 5k miles. This is an obvious failure on their part and they should be required to rectify the situation.

Additional Notes:

STRUCTURE:BODY
Potential Consequences:
The front chrome grill on my Sierra 1500 SLT has begun to detach, and there is currently a recall for this specific component on my vehicle. I took my truck to GMC Covert Bee Cave to get this recall and 1 other recall fixed, but GM does not have a remedy for grill. Not only does this pose a safety risk to myself, but I use my truck as a source of income by renting it out on Turo, and Turo has unlisted my truck from the app indefinitely or until this remedy is resolved. The paperwork I received from the dealership confirms GM has no remedy for the recall, and they sent me on my way without even offering a replacement vehicle. My truck is available for inspecting if you would like to see it. My safety and others safety is at risk if this recall does not receive a remedy or if GM does not give me a replacement vehicle in the meantime. No warning lights or any other systems can notify me if the grill is going to detach all the way, and I will not be able to have this source of income from Turo without the ability to have my truck relisted.

Defect Description:
ENGINE
Potential Consequences:
On 1 February 2025; I was stuck in the mud, in my pickup. As I was attempting to get out, my truck died. After several attempts to restart my truck; I was towed to my lake camp. Which located less than 100 yards away. Since it was no longer had a current warranty I contacted a mechanic. He arrived the following day and discovered that the engine was “locked up”. I had it towed to his shop, and he began to diagnose the engine. He has determined that the crankshaft is broken and 2 rod bearing are spun. He is currently checking for piston borehole damage. If no other damages are found, he will ordered repair parts and repair my engine.
