Exposure to road salt can cause the cross-axis ball joint to corrode and seize, resulting in a fracture of the outboard section of the rear suspension toe link.

I own a 2016 Ford Explorer. My Wife and I bought the car In Jan. 2016. On April 20th 2024, I was on my way to work when a warning came on the dash that said "check manual" and displayed an open end wrench. The car hesitated and then continued on. I was not far from the Ford Dealership where I bought the car so I went there. The service writer was working that day so I left the car at the dealership and called for a ride. On 4/23/24, the service writer called me and said the transmission was shot and would need to be replaced. My bill would be approx $5954.81.
Corrective Action:

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that when the heater was turned to the on position, it blew out cold air. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called an independent mechanic, who informed the contact that the water pump was leaking, and that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact called another local dealer, Bill Currie Ford (5815 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33614), but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Then when it comes to me, pulling out and about to drive and I have to make a turn the stand well will tighten up again and make it difficult for me to drive or or to turn go other way.
