Exposure to road salt can cause the cross-axis ball joint to corrode and seize, resulting in a fracture of the outboard section of the rear suspension toe link.

TOOK TO LOCAL FORD STORE KISSEE IN CLAREMORE OK IMMEDIATELY. THEY COULD NOT PINPOINT THE ISSUE BUT TOLD US OF SIMILAR ISSUE WITH EXHAUST ON 2012-2014 AND 15 MODELS BUT THAT FORD HAD NOT MENTIONED ANYTHING ABOUT 2016. BUT THAT PROVED FALSE, AND IT IS A SERIOUS DISTRACTION AND I NOW AM GETTING HEADACHES WHEN I RIDE IN MY NEW CAR. TODAY I STARTED THE CAR AND A VERY STRONG EXHAUST SMELL FILLED THE CABIN. SINCE EARLY OCTOBER 2016, I'VE HAD A NEAR-CONSTANT EXHAUST SMELL, SIMILAR TO WHAT NATURAL GAS OR SULFUR SMELLS LIKE, IN THE CABIN OF MY VEHICLE THAT IS RESULTING IN HEADACHES (LITERALLY) FOR MY ENTIRE FAMILY.
