In the event of a crash, the driver's frontal air bag may not fully inflate or the air bag cushion may detach from the air bag module. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Safety Issue:
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Ford Edge vehicles manufactured February 9, 2015, to August 12, 2016. During dealer servicing, the affected vehicles may be have been updated with incorrect Antilock Brake System (ABS) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) software. This software can cause the ESC system to lose engine torque control, and not provide any warning lamps to warn the driver if there was an ABS or ESC system malfunction. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems" and number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

FOUND OUT ABOUT TSB 19-2346 AFTER RESEARCHING THE DIAGNOSIS. IF I WOULD HAVE KNOW THIS LAST DEC (WHEN IT WAS RELEASED) I COULD HAVE TRADED THE CAR FOR MY NEW TOYOTA. AGAIN AFTER MUCH BACK AND FORTH IT WAS DETERMINED THAT I NEED A NEW ENGINE. I CONTACTED FORD, AND THEY WOULD OFFER NO HELP ON THIS. I DID GET A NEW ENGINE AT THE FIRST SERVICE CENTER FOR $6,000.00 I WENT TO. THE FORD DEALERSHIP WAS $1,500.00 MORE. I ALSO FOUND OUT THAT THERE ARE A NUMBER SERCVICE BULLETINS CONCERNING THIS ISSUE, AND YET FORD OFFERED NO HELP. THE LIGHT CAME ON WHEN THE CAR WAS IN MOTION.

TOWED OVER TO FORD AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP. THEY CALLED TODAY AND SAID NEED TO REPLACE FLYWHEEL, TORQUE CONVERTER, AND OIL PUMP TO THE TUNE OF $5300! I INTERNET SEARCHED THIS AND FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS. IF THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON CONTACT THEM TO BRING IT IN FOR FURTHER INSPECTION. THE LIGHT CAME BACK IN WITH MINUTES AFTER DRIVING OFF. THEY STATED THERE'S A COOLANT LEAK GOING INTO THE MOTOR. WHICH CAN CAUSE THE MOTOR TO BLOW UP OR CATCH FIRE. I TRIED T GE THEM TO FIX IT AND THEY GIVE ME COLD SHOULDER SO I ASKED FOR A TRADE FOR EQUITY VALUE OR A REVERSE ON THE LOAN TO GET MY OLD VEHICLE BACK THEY WOULDN'T DO IT.

THE DEALERSHIP MECHANIC TOLD ME IT WAS A KNOW ISSUE THAT THE COOLANT LEAKS ALONG THE ENGINE BLOCK. IN MY CASE IT LEAKED INTO THE 3RD CYLINDER AND CAUSED MISFIRES. THE CYLINDER IS CRACKED AND THE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. CURRENT MILAGE IS 64000 AND NOT COVERED UNDER THE 60000 MILE WARRANTY.

IT WILL OPEN WITH NO ISSUES, BUT THEN IN ORDER TO CLOSE IT, IT WILL CLOSE, AND THEN OPEN AGAIN. I HAVE TO CLOSE IT SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT ACTUALLY STAYS CLOSED. THE OTHER ISSUE I AM HAVING IS WITH THE MOON ROOF. IT HAS RANDOMLY CRACKED. I KEEP MY VEHICLE PARKED IN THE GARAGE, AND WORK FROM HOME. THERE IS NO CHIP IN THE GLASS, AND THE GLASS DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A REGULAR SPIDER FROM A CHIP. IT'S WAVY CRACKS.

I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION, THE SERVICE GUY FOUND NO IMPACT DAMAGE BUT VERY SLIGHTLY FELT THE GLASS "CATCH" EVER SO SLIGHTLY WHILE RUNNING A PEN OVER THE GLASS. THE "CATCH" IS A PIECE OF GLASS CRACKED ON 2 SIDES AND BEING PUSHED UP BY THE PRESSURE OF THE CRACKED, MOVING GLASS. ACCORDING TO THE INSPECTOR, THIS "CATCH" IS A PROBLEM AND HE DOES NOT THINK FORD WILL TAKE THE BLAME FOR THEIR DESIGN FLAW. THIS WINDOW IS CLEARLY A DESIGN FLAW, THERE IS NO OTHER EXPLANATION WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE WAY THE CRACK FOLLOWS THE CONTOUR OF THE ANTENNA. I HAVE PICTURES ON MY PHONE BUT I DO NOT DOWNLOAD OR HAVE THE ABILITY TO SEND THEM AT THIS TIME.
