Safety Issue:
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain Mopar Stage 1 Kit Performance Packages Powertrain Control Modules (PCM) Part Numbers P5160023, P5160025, and Demon Crate PCM Part Number 68412287AA. The PCMs are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. AFTER A RECALL WAS PERFORMED ON 6/11/19 (U08) CAR STARTED SKIPPING SPORADICALLY UPON ACCELERATION. THIS LEAD TO IT STALLING ALTOGETHER SPORADICALLY UPON ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. THE DEALER (AUTONATION CHRYSLER JEEP PEMBROKE PINES) HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM AFTER 3 WEEKS AND, BECAUSE IT DOES NOT SHOW UP IN THE COMPUTER, THE DEALER SAYS IT'S LIKE IT HASN'T HAPPENED. THEY HAVE NO IDEA OF HOW TO REPAIR MY CAR. IT IS STILL AT THE DEALER. I HAVE SHOWN THEM A PHOTO OF THE ERROR MESSAGE ON MY DASHBOARD: SHIFT TO P THEN DESIRED GEAR, AND A VIDEO OF THE GEARSHIFT BLINKING IN DRIVE POSITION. THE ONLY WAY THE CAR WILL MOVE WHEN THIS HAPPENS IS AFTER I PLACE THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN BACK IN DRIVE. STEERING HAS FELT "STICKY" FOR ABOUT A WEEK. IT IS DIFFICULT TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL AT ALL, AND IT WOULD GET STUCK IN CERTAIN POSITIONS SO I PHYSICALLY COULDN'T TURN OR CHANGE DIRECTIONS. THE PROBLEM WASN'T TOO BAD AT FIRST, BUT THEN GOT EXTREMELY BAD AS OF 08/07/2019. STEERING WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE, AND THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD GET STUCK N ALMOST EVERY TURN, MAKING DRIVING ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE, AND VERY DANGEROUS. I WAS TOLD THAT THE A/C EVAPORATOR UNIT IS NOT WORKING AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. SERVICE ADVISOR AT HEMET CHRYSLER ALSO STATED THAT CHRYSLER SENT OUT A PART BULLETIN ON THIS PART SINCE THEY ARE KNOWN TO FAIL, THAT CHRYSLER WILL BE REPLACING THE PART AT THE END OF YEAR WITH NEW PART. THIS IS MY THIRD CHRYSLER VEHICLE THAT IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I CURRENTLY OWN 2015 DODGE CHARGER, 2015 DODGE DURANGO, AND 2016 CHRYSLER 300S THAT I'M HAVING ISSUES WITH. I DID CONTACT CHRYSLER FOR SOME ASSISTANCE SINCE IT'S A $2700 REPAIR SINCE MY VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND SINCE I'M HAVING THE SAME ISSUE IN ALL THREE CARS. THEIR NEEDS TO BE A RECALL FOR THIS PART SINCE I THINK THEY KNOW OF HEIR A/C UNITS ARE FAILING.
Corrective Action:

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED, WHICH RESULTED IN A FRONT END COLLISION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING AND AIR BAG INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FRONT END ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE WAS DAMAGED, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DESTROYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE RIGHT KNEE, CHEST, AND LOWER BACK. THE CONTACT'S WIFE STRUCK HER HEAD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW AND SUSTAINED A BACK INJURY. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED AT THE TIME. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE.
